They've never really had much of a manual for this game. They usually put more detailed instructions in the help menu, but I don't see that here.
Thinking about picking up 2K8 for PS3 this afternoon, I already have 2K7 so I'm hesitant to buy another bball game. For those who have both or just 2K8, is it worth spending $60+?
why did they only give it a 7.9 on IGN? can you really make shaq a lock down defender on point guards and make him hit 3 pointers like the review says?
I just beat somebody online and he gave me a bad review and said I "Abused Exploits". I was trailing the whole game by about 10 then McGrady caught on fire and scored about 20 points in the 4th and I forced OT then hit a McGrady 3 at the buzzer and got fouled to win by 4. I know I got lucky, and he was better, and I even sent him a message saying good game, I got lucky. Well then I find out he gave me a bad review. What a sore F'ing loser. How am I abusing exploits when a player gets hot? F'ing Detroit Piston fans.
get used to playin sore losers online. I got to the point on nba2k7 where the majority of games i actually completed were the ones i lost. The few completed that I won, I would be accused of abusing exploits/cheating. Im a grown man, I have bigger worries that winning a video game.
Online is a joke for most sports games. NBA ones are the worst. Most of the time they just have the inbound pass thrown all the way down to the other end of the court and try to lay up. If you can't abuse exploits don't even bother.
You cant do the inbounds pass thing anymore. When you try to throw a pass t someone past mid court 90% of the time the ball will sail out of bounds.
Some people at Operation Sports (one guy in particular) tested out the reviewer's claims and proved to be completelty false. He provided videos of trying to lock down defend LeBron with Shaq at different levels and situations and not one instance turned out well for him. Either LeBron drove by Shaq for a dunk or drove by him making the defense collapse and kicked it out. He also posted a game where he shot 36 3's with Shaq the whole game (again, changing difficulty levels throughout) and posted the picture of him only making 3. So, basically the reviewer is pretty much full of crap. Funny thing is that Live got an even worse score (6.9 I believe). The game is not perfect but that score is a joke. At this point, I'd give it a 9.0 score easy but Ive only played a handfull of games and haven't messed with Association, onlline, etc.
So can you really create 200 players on this game….and can you still add greats to rosters by trading someone from the regular roster to the great one?

2k8 is easily better than 2k7 which was a great game and i remember getting a good score. ign is full of ****.
Got the PS2 version for my kid today. Walked in on him playing Rockets vs. Sonics and was wondering why he was cheering Durant. Turns out he was playing as the Sonics because of KD. I love KD and will follow him closely but, sigh! Where did I go wrong? Seriously, the graphics aren't that good but the gameplay is outstanding. Very realistic. Every time Rafer went to the basket he missed.
The game is good, the menus suck. How do I play a ranked match? I just wasted a lot of energy beating some dude and it didnt even count.
Man I hate playing online ! I seriously have more fun playing against the CPU. All these guys want to do is drive and lay-up/dunk and then on defense they double team every time. Cheesing bastards.
