Hear from a source that rockets were so impress with lakers transformation to HD, that they are taking the some approach.same kind of lighting and the redesign of the floor. Les is going all out for this team,he thinks we will be running and gunning and that style will bring plenty viewers and more national broadcasts.
Great news...there is nothing like watching sports in HD!! I'm glad the Rockets have stepped it up, they owe us after making us watch a couple seasons plus select games on Ch.51, nothing like watching 2 channels at once like I did at my house.
Great news! HD makes a HUGE difference in my enjoyment of the games. You can see so much more of the court, watch plays develop, it is easier to watch individual match-ups off the ball, read names on jerseys, recognize players much easier. There are just so many positives with HD over analog. About the only way to make games more enjoyable watching them on HD is watch them on an HD DVR. I'm assuming the sound will be wired like they have it for national broadcasts (5.1 or better surround sound) where the rear speakers pump out the crowd noise. I usually have my rear speakers set a little higher, and I can occasionally hear specific taunts from the crowd. I am VERY pumped about this season knowing I will see over 41+ games in HD.

IIRC...Toyota Center was built in the same style as Staples Center where the upperdeck is darkened and almost can't be seen on camera.
i'm assuming this is for houston area only, right? i'm in austin so i have to get league pass and i'm not sure if i'd get an HD feed out here in austin. anyone have any idea?
PERRRRFECT! I LITERALLY just ordered League Pass, can't wait. Now I just need an HD receiver for my 120" projector. (Blur is slow shudder speed in a dark room)
And, I dunno what you guys are spending on a freaking small TV, but I paid $325 SHIPPED for my projector & ceiling mount. Last time I checked, 120" > 54"! http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/Category/category_tlc.asp?CatId=23&name=Projectors www.projectorcentral.com
Some of us don't have the space for something that large! but I can tell from your picture that I would love to see the Rockets that large!!
That's 17' away, that's not super huge or super far away. Obviously, the further away, the larger. If you go to that Projector Central link, you can gauge the max width @ what zoom for just about any model projector.
actually no. dish has 12 dedicated HD channels for NBA league pass. i also saw 3 other ones that said NBA HD (397-399) those channels are on both 61.5 and 121 satellite locations so you will get them depending on which one of those you have at your house. I personally can get programming from 110, 119 and 121.
i have dish network and they dont have allt he games in HD just a few select games like 2-3 extra per week. maybe i can see if there is a new promotion like the nfl superfan
