    here's another tidbit.

    FTs are:

    81 of 101 in 17 games since Barkley injury
    60 of 80 in 19 games before

    Many more trips per game to the line and better shooting. excellent!

    Just think what Steve's numbers would look like if he had been the first option from day one.Don't get me wrong,It's all good right now!

    It was easy to see that Barkly slowed the game way too much for these young guys to thrive....

    Or maybe, the stats are getting better because Steve Francis is learning how to play under control in the NBA... What a concept. [​IMG]

    This is the perfect case of stats being used to mislead... There's not necessarily any cause/effect relationship here. Francis could be better because of no Barkley, but the stats you used don't do anything to prove that point. He could very well be better because he has learned how to play in the NBA.

    I agree with Shanna. No cause/effect intended here other than to say that this was the dividing point where Francis had no one to lean on, no one's spot light to stand behind. He is the journalists lead story now. He is handling that pressure well.
