I read an interesting article from kicksology.com reviewing Steve Francis' shoes. Here's an excerpt: The verdict? The WINK DMX does not provide an adequate level of cushioning, and I am no heavy weight. This was apparent on my first wearing of this shoe based on the pain I felt in my feet and shins, but I've had shoes improve dramatically after the initial wear (the prime example being the Nike SHOX BB4) so I felt that it was necessary to give the DMXs at least four more intense wearings before passing judgement on the cushioning. To my chagrin, the shoes only got worse and the pain in my shins steadily increased. The end result was the worst case of shin splints that I've had in a long, long time. Most of the time I feel very lucky to be able to test wear so many different hoops shoes, but the WINK DMX made me wonder if it's all really worth it. That's how bad the pain was. The DMX I-Pak and the midsole in the WINK DMX do not adequately cushion the body from the impact forces experienced when playing basketball. I know the game is played so much more above the rim these days than decades ago, but tens of thousands of great passing white guys can't be wrong about these...Steve, give the Chucks a try!!!
Steve needs to take a hint from A.C. Green when designing his shoes. Those are the Wink DMX...but didn't Bill Worrell comment on a new shoe, "The Franchise?" Is that the same thing? Reebok is a crappy brand. I've got Shox like VC wears.
Yeah finalsbound is right, I remember Bill Worrell talking about his new shoes "The Franchise" and they even showed them on telivision. Anyways it probably is Reeboks fault
Reebok sucks anyhow and im amazed they got the contract to design the uniforms now.... Nike is the best basketball shoe hands down.
The players don't play in off the shelf versions of thier shoes. They play in specially made shoes. If they didn't they would get blisters breaking them in all the time. Do you honestly think Dream played in a pair of Spaldings straight from Payless? No way. Steve's shoes are plenty cushy.
