here i was watching a texans game, with the texans just about to try and convert a 3rd down. BUT NO! the signal has to go out! you would think with all this great technology that this problem would be solved. i want to shoot someone. SOADSAODIHS{AD"sd{sapdihasdih)wsa
yeah it sucks. were getting directtv cuz of their new HD channels but im guessing theyre no better at keeping signal
Last season during the an away game at the Jazz, a bunch of friends went to a bar to watch the game. It was raining so hard, there was no signal. Went to another bar, same thing. Went to a friends house and watched HD cable. I will never get satellite.
that happened to me at the house. The sattelite went out then came back about 1 minute later and i see Juwan and Okur going at it...
The cable used to go out about 10 times more than the satellite does. Maybe the cable company has gotten better about that recently... but I doubt it. Cable is evil.
I lived in an apartment that had the absolute worst cable I've ever experienced in my life. It was some off-brand cable company that had a contract with the apartment complex to provide cable, and they just barely did so. Channels would go out for days at a time. Many channels had such bad reception that they were unwatchable and there were many times when some channels would go weeks with the picture not matching the sound. I have Dish Network at my house right now. It doesn't go out very often at all, but I am thinking about switching to the Verizon FIOS fiber optic stuff they have in my neighborhood as it looks pretty good (and I already have the FIOS internet and phone).
I guess it depends on where you are. but In the 7+ years since I ditched sats for just this problem (weather dropouts), my cable has gone out twice...one of which was because Rita killed the power out here. the evilness of cable is far overstated imo....Ive had both, I know waht the truth is.
I can't EVER recall losing cable. Not once. I've lost my cable modem too many times to count, but the TV always worked. Not sure if you lived inside a red oak outside the mushroom patch, where cable is notorously unreliable. But in Houston, it seems to be fine. But satelitte sucks. I'll never buy it.
