So another top five program bites the dust. Didn't see any discussions on this topic yet. Anybody else watch tonight?

Not that I have any sympathy for them but its kind of a shame that West Virginia just ruined their season. They brought all those guys back to win a championship. They have Louisville at home this year. This was supposed to be the year they could do it and they blew it.

South Florida's defense is siiiick. West Virginia's spread offense looked damn near unstoppable before this weak and they got shut down. South Florida is for real, ladies and gents.

I think South Florida and Oregon are my two new favorite teams to watch. :p

South Florida is the best team in that conference. They play an all too rare physical style of defense. WVU got exposed (again... by the same team), Pat White got exposed, and most importantly... Rodriguez got exposed.

WVU will be there next year doing the same thing though. Whether the QBs name is Pat White or Rasheed Marshall. Whether the RB is named Steve Slaton or Noel Devine. They can play groundhog day til the end of time. If you run you need defense. I bet Alabama fans are thanking every god there is they didn't hire him.

The Scarlet Knights might have something to say about that on October 18th in NJ. ;)

I didn't watch a lot of the 2nd half because the 1st half was so awful. WV is one of my favorite college football teams to watch but I couldn't take it any more. 8 TOs in the 1st half? Slaton looked very ordinary.

USF was the better team and deserved to win. What they need to do is recruit a decent QB. If they end up running the table, how high will they be ranked at the end?

What USF has done over the past decade is amazing, going from no football program to having a legit top 25 team. Outstanding. And they had their first sellout of Raymond James Stadium with 69,000+ in attendance.

I figure that since they're in the Big East and they'd have to beat Rutgers and a good Cincinnati team, they'd at least be higher than Boise State was last year (#8 before the bowls). I'd say Top 4 or 5. It's just be a matter if there are any other BCS teams that go undefeated and maybe a 12-1 SEC team that could slip by them.

I know white's backup, brown, needs to start. he almost pulled it out. very vince young like. dude is a sophomore, he is a much better passer than vince was at that point and pat white is now. he brings another dimension. there will be a contreversy in morgantown.

white limits them when they get behind. that dude could throw the ball, just made too many young mistakes.

To be fair...White got hurt and didn't play in the 2nd half, that changes of TON of things. But his backup actually played pretty well and almost made the comeback.

Watch out for Devine next season. He has hands down the nastiest H.S. football clips I've ever seen. He would have been the #1 rated prospect if it wasn't for his grades and off-field problems.

I'm a big Pat White fan but Brown looked pretty good from what I saw. I should have been patient and watched the whole 2nd half. Not sure about them switching QBs just yet. If they have another stinky 1st half like yesterday and Brown brings them back, then maybe.

He has a unique relationship with Deion Sanders too. For a brief period he was Devine's legal guardian and still remains his mentor. Not a bad role model to have if you want to make it in football, right?

The president doesn't really care about athletics and the AD has no vision. Nothing will happen at Texas State as long as Teis (and probably Trauth) are there. UTSA, who is just starting their football program, may become IA before Texas State does.
