    From the NEXT debate:

MARVIN ZINDLER: I want to give everyone a chance in this. You just
take 10 seconds. basso, favorite Bible verse?

BASSO: Moses replied: "It is not the sound of victory, it is not the sound of defeat; it is the sound of singing that I hear."

    ZINDLER: rimrocker?

RIMROCKER: There the angel of the LORD appeared to him in flames of fire from within a bush. Moses saw that though the bush was on fire it did not burn up.

    ZINDLER: Ottomaton?

OTTOMATON: When Pharaoh let the people go, God did not lead them on the road through the Philistine country, though that was shorter. For God said, "If they face war, they might change their minds and return to Egypt.".

    ZINDLER: Decker?

DECKER: I have become a brother of jackals, a companion of owls.

    ZINDLER: Trader_Jorge?

JORGE: therefore in hunger and thirst, in nakedness and dire poverty, you will serve the enemies the LORD sends against you. He will put an iron yoke on your neck until he has destroyed you.

    ZINDLER: MacBeth?

MACBETH: Then, at the evening sacrifice, I rose from my self-abasement, with my tunic and cloak torn, and fell on my knees with my hands spread out to the LORD my God...

Why isn't TJ angered that Russert never even asked for a quote from the Quran? the Vedas? Or that Republicans candidates are highly unlikely to be able to quote from them?

The Founder's Separation of Church and State... an petty annoyance for TJ.

I too find it interesting that Russert asked about a bible verse and not about their favorite amendment to the constitution.

That "chick" is Jerusalem. If you can handle the whole city, you are more of a man than Martin Van Buren.

Had Hillary said this, I might just consider voting for her:

"The path of the righteous man is beset on all sides by the iniquities of the selfish and the tyranny of evil men. Blessed is he who, in the name of charity and good will, shepherds the weak through the valley of the darkness. For he is truly his brother's keeper and the finder of lost children. And I will strike down upon thee with great vengeance and furious anger those who attempt to poison and destroy my brothers. And you will know my name is The Lord when I lay my vengeance upon thee."

I'm guessing he did that because they've been talking quite a bit about their faiths in the campaign so far. Hillary and Obama in particular.

Bah, they're all Anti-Federalist Liberals. Everyone knows that their favorite amendment is the 16th. At least this one could have had some interesting answers.

Wow, Trader_WhoreHey, this thread kind of backfired on you...

“Judge not, that ye be not judged."

Cohen, I can understand why you would be opposed to anything pro-Christian, but let's look at American politics today. The overwhelming majority of voters are Christian. The liberals desperately court the Christian vote and whenever possible, talk about their relationship with the faith. Well, when they are asked to substantiate that stance, by naming their favorite Bible verse (heck, any Bible verse), they are exposed for the frauds that they are by being incapable of citing a SINGLE VERSE. Their religious overtures are purely superficial and purely meant to manipulate voters. Obviously they are unfamiliar with the religion and by virtue of that, are poorly suited to represent Christians.

By the way, I'd LOVE for a democratic candidate to quote from the Koran. Perhaps this can be a question for the next dem debate! I hope they can all do it!

Even though I don't care about this thread or it's original intent, that isn't the point Jorge was making. Not that you have to be able to quote the Bible to be a good Christian, but that for a group of politicians who try so hard in an election period to play up their faith, this certainly seems hypocritical.
