How many times am I going to have to watch the Rockets stink up the joint in the first quarter? I thought Rudy was suppose to be a good motivator. Well if he is, shouldnt the Rocks be able to start the game pumped up. We were behind by 21 to the damn Clipps for crying out loud. I dont think its because of talent, but rather the lack of effort. We lose today and we will be a .500 team. Yeah its going to take time to get some chemistry going. But how hard is it to just pass the damn ball? The Rockets are constantly dribbling the ball like crazy to start the game. Then sometimes they go on a run to catch up. Well I guess I am just after watching the pathetic start today.
im going to agree with the Dr. Jekyl version of ZRB and say that the rockets will come back and win this game. and i enjoy watching any game that moochie has an afro, even if we lose.
It's definitely time for Rudy to shake things up. Cato and Rice are not going to cut it. Let them redeem themselves and their games coming off the bench, Cato especially But the biggest truth concerning this team is is that this team will never be worth a damn unless Francis learns to shoot the ball more.
Oh my God I am turning into ZRB! For a young team, we sure as hell dont play like one. We play like a bunch of old geezers. Our 98 team with Charles and Hakeem had more energy then this guys. As I am typing this Rice has had about 2-3 consecutive successull post up plays ran for him. Why the hell cant we do this more often!
Okay I feel like picking up my damn monitor and throwing it up in the air and then hitting it with my head like a soccer player. Get the lead down to five and then stink up the joint again!
Great call refs! A flagrant foul is committed on Francis, no call. Instead, the Clippers get a couple of free throws on a missed layup from Odom. Well, so much for that run.
They're not giving Steve the calls but hes not going to last very long in this game if he keeps insisting on driving into the teeth of defense everytime. I dont really understand why he does this becuase he has real nice mid-range jumper that he can get himself anytime he wants yet he passes these up time after time only to bully his way inside where he usually suffers some vicious blow to his noggin or other important body part.
You know whats funny? Chicago trading Brand for Curry! What the hell was Krause thinking?!?!?! I used to think Brand kicked ass cause he was in the East, but after watching him twice this season I have changed my mind. The dude is a prototypical power forward. I wouldnt be surprised if he made the allstar team in a year or two even in the wild wild west. What the hell is up with Boykins?!?!?!?! who the hell is this guy!
Two consecutive offensive possessions snuffed out by Glen Rice late in the 4th quarter... first, a pathetically awkward attempt to go baseline where he gets swiped by Odom. Then, an open three -- the reason he makes the big bucks -- ... nothing. I wonder how long we're gonna chalk up his un-clutchness to his tired legs, or his unfamiliarity with the offense, or his need to get his shot going with regularity. The Knicks waited a whole year for Rice to get untracked, but it never happened.
I missed the game, and I know stats are no substitute for observation of on-court play, but Rice looked like he had an alright game: 6-11 for 15 pts, 3-6 from the perimeter. Obviously, we want him to be clutch as well as a consistent shooter, but the numbers don't look so bad.
Actually, I might be a little hard on Glen because I didn't see the whole game, only the end. I've read in other posts that he sparked the Rockets comeback. I must be a curse or something. It seems like every time I'm watching a Rockets game and Rice has an open three he misses it. I was used to seeing that last year when he was with New York (where he fell out of favor quick with Van Gundy because of his aversion for practice and shootarounds). I hope he starts performing consistently.
earl boykins is my hero. he's like 5'5" and 135 lbs. he played off the bench for cleveland and seemed to use his minutes productively. short point guards rule!
I've felt this way since the middle of last season and have been reluctant to say anything. I guess now there are 2 of us. I'm confused as to why every shot has to have such a high degree of difficulty. The key to NBA success (and longevity) is efficiency.
