What exactly is plantar fascitis? Is it contagious? It seems to be the chronic injury for the Rockets.

No need for Collier, we have enough 35% to 40% outside shooters. Where is Ike Nwanko? We need someone to rebound those misses!!!!

How bad is Steve Francis' plantar fasciitis? That's a big concern when you consider how it affected Rice and Penny Hardaway.

i had it, and ima guy, and a very slim one at that......its a horrible pain. its really like theres this pin thats bein poked into the bottom of ur foot deeper and deeper by every step. Before I got it fixed, i ran and walked on the side of my feet, thats how bad the pain was. Its also very curable, but it really shouldnt be taken lightly.

Damn I've had that for years. I had no idea what it was until now. It feels like someone getting a knife and poking it in the center of your heel. I get it every once in a while and only when playing basketball. I never get it when I am playing football or soccer. I guess it doesn't help that Steve plays in the NBA and not the NFL.

Heh I always thought it was a piece of glass that I stepped on while I was a kid that caused the pain.

Shoes can cause it, check your basketball shoes, maybe they are not giving your arch the support it needs.

I wonder if Steve's shoes are okay?

Remember his shoes from last year . . . well, they really sucked at support and cusioning (and fit, and everything else). I remember him mentioning in one of those "Rocket Summaries" in the Chronicle, something about his shoes not fitting right or fitting well or something along those lines . . . I wonder if his new shoes are even worse, and are giving him P.F.?

    just a thought . . .

A week or so ago, someone posted an article about Steve and his migraines, and after it was explained, I realized I've had them for years..

    Guess what?

I've had this plantar whatever for like a year now. I never stopped playing on it, I just thought I had some sorta defect in my foot. So that's probably why I've played in pain for a whole year now..Absolutely wonderful...lol...

Anything else I should know about myself?

I heard Steve Francis is a hypocondriac ... maybe that's what you have too.

I guess back in the 20th century they had this injury too, but you never heard about it, because they PLAYED anyway.

The 21st Century athletes are such panzies !!!

A hypocondriac is someone who makes up illnesses and symptoms to get attention. It's a sort of mental illness. :)

The guy played almost the whole game on a sore ankle yesterday. If Cat and Francis can get credit for that, then I think Cato can too.

No, he's not a hypocondriac. In fact, some say Steve is.
