I have played an older version of MGS and loved it but it was a bit easy for me but Game Informer ranked it as a perfect 10 which happens rarely and the commercial is awesome!

I read the review to Baldurs Gate and it looks like a game I would really be intersted in,they said the graphics were uncomparable to any game out there, they said the 1st water pool you get to you will just stop and jump in it for about 10 minutes:)

This is for PS2 of course and I was wondering if I can get some ogf your opinions on the two games.

    Thanx,Ren!!!

I haven't played either, but have seen the commercial for MGS 2 and it looks absolutely awesome! If I had the money I'd get a PS 2 just for MGS 2.

Your joking, right? There is even a decision process involved here? :) Maybe you should ask my good pal Solid Snake which game you should get. :D

Seriously, though. I haven't played the PS2 Baldur's Gate, but MGS2 is an AMAZING game. A definate must own. If you enjoyed the first one even the least little bit, you will NOT be dissappointed.

Ya know, I've played the games in the Baldur's Gate series and think they're among the best RPG's ever created for the PC. My problem is considering what I know about them, and the complexities of the interface and the use of the mouse, how the heck can you do this on a console? It seems like a pain in the butt to use a PS2 controller to do everything I was used to doing with the mouse...

Anyway, the game still looks pretty good, though. Although I'm not much for 3D games that render people and landscapes like polgyon people and mountains. :)

Yeah in the article I read they mentioned that you couldnt get the full affect of realtime battles because there is know way to translate the quick mouse movements to a standard controller.

"BG: Dark Alliance is just a button mashing beat-em up in fantasy clothing, but what a fabulous controller cruncher it is"

Im hearing that MGS2 is going to be one of the best games ever though, so I dont know if I can pass on it.

If you're talking about the "invasion of the polygon people" graphics, yeah. I don't know why people call these games "beautiful" and say they have great graphics... I don't consider people with triceps made of triangles very "great". When photo-realistic gaming gets popular, I'll sing its praises, but until then, these graphics in 3D games are hideous. I'd much rather have a top-down view of pseudo-3D or 2D graphics. They're much more pleasing on the eyes... to me anyway.

Well, I heard something really bad about MGS2... not to take away from the game or anything (which everyone who's played a good chunk of it thinks it's the best thing since sliced bread), but I've heard from a bunch of friends that the ending sucked. :( It's really convulated and unnecessarily complex. Just thought I'd throw that in.

I can believe that because I thought that Metal Gear Solid ended kind of....out of the blue. What ever happened to the big build up ending of the old Nintendo or Sega games???

    :(

DoD- like command and conquer? is that what your talking about?

i agree with you on the polygon graphics i suppose.

I cant wait till computer games are like the graphics in the movie "Final Fantasy". That will be ****ing awesome.

Count me in as one who has never been impressed with the "great" polygon graphics.

I haven't played many consloe games in a long time. I do have an original PlayStation...I don't know, I guess I just lost interest when games quit impressing me.

I need to dust off my consoles and check out some new stuff. Can anyone recommend some good games for the original PS?
