MacBeth has been there several times and bedded every woman you posted. (And he kicked the two guys' ass.)
Will you be wearing lederhosen? If so will you post a picture so we can admire (laugh at) you? <object width="425" height="350"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/_Fhe-FwEymY"></param><param name="wmode" value="transparent"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/_Fhe-FwEymY" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" wmode="transparent" width="425" height="350"></embed></object>
Been over 10 years for us since our trip to the Original. We still go to the little local one in Fredericksburg. And Wurstfest later in the year in New Braunfels similar. Also attended Oktoberfests in Albuquerque, Alpine Village - Torrance (7th best in the US), Orange, Big Bear Lake (4th best...go figure), and Old World Village - Huntington Beach. http://www.askmen.com/fashion/travel_top_ten_100/112c_travel_top_ten.html SJC, are you aware that many Germans emigrated to Central Texas in the 1800's? Here's a great Beer site: http://beeradvocate.com/ Decent beerfest in Denver on Oct 11-13; draws 40k people. You can watch the Lowenbrau tent live (always good to torture oneself while at work) at: http://www.loewenbraeu.de/4_gastro_events/4_4_oktoberfest/4_4_2_webcam/index_stat_webcam.htm
We were considereing it but only briefly; too long a drive for the kids for a weekend. It's one of the best.
I try to go to a local Oktoberfest event every year but I did make it to the OG one in Munich a few years back, it was an absolute blast! Unbelievable how many people, how much beer and how much fun it was! One piece of advice, be sure to get to the festival before 11AM so you can get inside a tent or you'll be waiting in line all day long and be stuck outside, while this is fun, there is nothing more fun then getting inside and staying inside of one of those tents for a long time and getting very, very drunk off excellent brew! I recommend the Spaten tent, I love Spaten bier and I thought that tent was the funnest. At night, when you leave the tent, be sure to go ride one of the big roller coasters with all the loops, what a blast!! Enjoy!!
My bro and I are actually going to the Great American Beer Fest in Denver in a couple of weeks...Can't wait...One of these days we'll go to the real one...
LOL Even though I had an idea, I had to google "boosums". I liked what I saw. Thank you, codell. Yep, you are right. Yep, after three years in Munich, I finally bought some (and the matching shoes, etc.)! No pictures, though. Munich, Germany Yes, I read and heard about it when I was in Houston...never made it to New Braunfels, though...some travel guide actually said that every third American has some German in her. I think I've only been there once. Today, it will be Hippodrom tent for me during the day and probably Käfer tent in the evening. Good question. I think it is due to weather concerns. It will last until Oct. 7th, I think. We have a box reserved in the Hippodrom tent for 40 people. Don't know if there are any webcams in the Hippodrom tent, but if yes, you might see me . I "have to" go at least three more times as I have been invited by business partners, so I will also get to go to Schützenzelt tent and Bräurosl tent .
Uh...I don't think that's what they meant. There are still a lot of German-speaking families in the hill country, but they say it's been dying out in the past few decades. Only cams I found .... Lowenbrau, Hacker, Braurosl, and the Wine tent Have fun.
you should go to the widespread panic shows in loveland that same weekend..... it will be crazy. i'd be going if i had any vacation time left
ha, i went last year in Munich. You pretty much have the plan down. Get a beer tent reservation. Go in, have some fun and come out happy. that's just the plan.
5 year bump... Anyone going this year? I've never been (or to Germany for that matter), but a couple buddies and I are thinking about going. We have a friend in Berlin, who we'd go stay with for a few days, then head down to Munich. Any tips/advise from Oktoberfest vets? Do you have to buy a ticket to get in? I see there are a bunch of tents... do you have to buy tickets to get into each tent, or is it just a free for all?
