is horrible... listening to lopez and deluca actually makes you stupider. scientific fact. palillo is the ONLY thing going for that station, b/c everyone else is a moron.
Charlie Palillo is the only Houston sports talk radio personality I listen to, period. Plus....he's awfully nice to talk to about sports in person over a couple of cold ones. I did it once at Kay's Lounge two years ago (a mutual friend introduced us...both of us just happened to be there at the time) and it was thoroughly enjoyable.
hmm, i guess im the minority and like Monsters in the Midday its better than listening to Rome on the way to work
I don't like the name "monsters of the midday". It seems to cheesy and forced up on us. But Dave2k is right, Rome blows and it blows hard.
lopez kills that show. i think deluca could be fine with virtually anyone else. but lopez is just awful. seriously. i'd called it radio for kindergarteners but i don't want to insult kindergarteners. bad bad bad.
dukes was far better than craig roberts... and calling the show "the mens room"? lame. 97.5 is growing on me.... maybe i'll listen to john g once lance joins back up with him.
Roberts makes me nutty. I just can't listen to him. Lopez is just so often wrong, it's almost pointless to listen. I like DeLuca. If you've ever heard him on Saturday mornings, he's good by himself. Palillo is the best in town.
awesome! actually the signal was much better today than it has been. i can pick it up in my office just fine.
Craig Roberts is hard to listen to. He's another example of someone who isn't nearly as interesting as he thinks he is. He takes too long to say very little and obviously enjoys listening to himself talk. Roberts seems knowledgeable but gets in his own way too much. He needs to eat some humble pie. Davies and Dukes had no chemistry but Roberts and Davies is no better. DeLuca is fine. Lopez is barely adequate but doesn't irritate me that much. I don't understand why the feelings here are so strong against him. His writing at the Chronicle was worse than he is as a radio host. Pallilo is very good but he needs a co-host.
to expand on these 2 points, roberts reminds me of when dennis miller was on MNF. he tells jokes that aren't funny, and they're extremely long and drawn out. charlie is awesome. he knows his stuff, but is dry at times. a co-host would be interesting... who has he worked with in the past?
Rich Lord, Dalati, Carl Dukes for example. 10+ years ago, Charlie and Rich were very good together, far and away the best combo in town.
