Anyways to prevent scarring? Tonight while I was training in some BJJ my friend who's an excellent san shou kickboxer came in because I guess the instructors want him to get more into mma then just kickboxing.

Point is, since we knew each other and have always chatted about sparring together we paired and went all out.. I exited with a pretty good cut under my right eye, and a lot of rash burn.. I'm positive the burns (they happen a lot) will go away but the cut is worrying me. Is there any tips to prevent the cut from scarring?

Keep in mind I train just about everyday, any tips I could use to make sure the cut doesn't keep re-opening? Wouldn't that lead to scar if it kept re-opening?

BTW if you must know, he had my number.. Next time though I'll be more prepared ;)

Yeah, we went two 5 minute rounds.. He got me in a kimora 4 minutes into the first. Really I controlled most of the fight but I just couldn't get any submissions.

If it were a straight BJJ competition I would have won with points even after being submitted. I controlled it all but I made a mistake, let him get full mount without underhooks, leaving an arm open to the kimora.

I'm not a black belt, pshh I'm not even a brown belt, or purple.. so I do make mistakes. I would have had him with an ankle lock at the end but time ran out. We agreed he won because he submitted me and I looked far worse with that cut.

But know this, this guy was tremendously out of my league, he just won a huge san shou kickboxing tournament and he is the #1 student of a guy who just won the national championship and will be going to Beijing to represent the U.S.A.

    Alex Cisne in Beijing!

Not to ruin the fantastic-ness of this thread with actual advice on how to keep the cut from scarring.. lol

    BUT

If it doesn't need stitches - Then I suggest using two things.. neosporin twice a day for the first couple of days and keep it covered if you can, then buy a packet of Vitamin E gels and break them and put them on the cut. I think you can get them in like walmart's first aid section of the pharmacy.

    Thanks for the serious feedback

BTW the captions are freakin' hilarious! Great work, I needed the laugh. Sucks to know the captions were of me though, I now feel violated.

Luckily I said the cut was under my right 'eye' and didn't say I got a cut on my head

cover it up whenever you go outside until it heals, then use sunscreen. sunlight makes scars way more obvious.
