Oh c'mon...it was pretty damn close, remember the 1-15 first season, which allowed us to get HOF'r Aikman...You can't compare the two owners as Bob hasn't won anything...Don't forget, the Cowboys released AB to begin with...

I will say this, no matter how much b*tchin' we all do, the Texans have done pretty good, considering starting from scratch...I'm pretty syked about this season for both teams...

actually they've got the worst record of any expansion team through the first 5 seasons, as i understand it.

I've read that scouts have said that the '89 team was one of the least talented teams they had ever seen in the NFL. To take that and win two Super Bowl in the next four years is freakin' amazing.

I've never questioned the incredible legacy the Cowboys have built. It'd be no fun to hate them if they sucked.

For example, the Orioles spend crazy money, but nobody hates them. Because they suck. It's much more rewarding, in a sadistic kind of way, to hate the Yankees.

At least I admit it. :D

Truth be told though, the Cowboys were a solid "2nd favorite" of mine behind my Oilers until Jones rolled in, ran Landry out the way he did, and started bringing in thugs. The day Jones showed up on Landry's golf course, with Jimmy Johnson in tow, and fired him on the spot--that's the day I started hating the Cowboys.

And the day Jones sells them might be the day I relent (as if my petty whims had any impact whatsoever). :p

Let me hedge on that in this respect: first of all I meant "showed up on the golf course at which Landry was playing." Second of all, I have to admit this is total hearsay from years ago, I don't even remember the source, and I wonder how much of it is accurate.

Those who are enlightened, please provide accurate information (as I'm sure you would have anyway).
