I know it pisses all Rocket fans off, but once again(surprise, surprise), ESPN and CNNSI have nothing on the front page of their site on the Rockets thrashing of the Heat. But, also surprisingly, NBA.com has taken notice. We are now the HEADLINING story as of midnight Jan 24th. Whats wrong with ESPN and CNNSI?
You know I was just about to put that same exact topic and the same post but you beat me to it. Im glad that the rockets are getting noticed now. Finally we do get respect.
All us Rocket fans think a like....I cant wait to see the ESPN power rankings, they will probably move us down as far as there logic goes, I dont get the crew at ESPN, if the Rockets can get pass Minnesota,GoldenState, and at Denver....and bring that 6 game win streak to a 9 game win streak aginst a Lakers team on National TV the rockets should 110% of all the Air time and respect they deserve, of those games i think that Denver game will be the most tuff its a back to back game with the rockets having to travel to Denver....
I really can't believe that the Rockets trashing of the Heat wasn't the lead story over the Rams and, ugh, Titans wins yesterday. Jeez, what is their freakin' problem? Don't they know that a sub-.500 team is more important than anything else? People, I get pissed off as much as the next guy about the way the Rockets have been treated in the past. But think about it. We are 16-24, not exactly the best team in the NBA. I do admit that our winning streak is nice, very nice. But it doesn't demand the respect and admiration of the national media in our case (record) until we get above .500. I'm one who believes that respect should only be given when a team or person wins a championship, something we are far away from doing. Guys, it'll take something like a 10 or 12 game win streak (or at least a couple more 6s) before we get the mediocre tag removed by the sports media. Let 'em underestimate us. In an odd way it keeps the pressure off so that the young 'uns can continue their growth.
