A 6-10 power forward, Anderson signed a deal with the Denver Nuggets. The No. 1 overall selection in the NBDL's inaugural draft, Anderson played in two games with the Patriots, averaging 6.0 points, 5.0 rebounds and 2.5 blocks in 20 minutes. "This is a significant day for our new league and for Chris," NBDL executive director Karl Hicks said. "The NBDL has put a new group of talented young players on the radar screen for NBA scouts. We not only can offer players tremendous exposure to the NBA's scouts but can also help them develop their skills with first-class coaching and training." Anderson spent time with the Cleveland Cavaliers' 2001 Summer League team and also has played in the IBA and China. He averaged 10.1 points and 7.7 rebounds in one season (1998-99) at Texas' Blinn Community College.
After Blinn, Anderson had committed to UH (during Drexler's tenure), but he wasn't eligible academically.
