From Sina.com, covered by a guy called "Wood Bow" (Mu Gong). He covers Houston community news occasionally, like he used to report a Houston based ABA basketball team call Houston Takers, so sometime it is fun to read his blog.

So here are the photos he took on the Rockets Launch Crew Open Tryout Day (on Sep 16), you can find more from this link.

You should be very familiar with this lady...

Well, they are NOT trying out as the Rockets Launch Crew.

Accordingly, aside from the Rockets Power Dancers, these guys and girls are the ones that do all the hip hop/street dance during intermission with the RPDs.

Hee, I did do a bit homework before I post the thread. I checked rockets.com for a similiar event and found this:

The time and venue match with Mu Gong's report in his own blog. ;)

    Well, that sounds you're correct.

But if you read what Mu Gong wrote in his blog, he was saying this group of guys and girls are to be the hip hop/street dance performers during intermissions in the regular season.

Some of these girls look underdeveloped in a certain part of their body. Are you sure this isn't a middle school try out? :)

Since Kam didn't chime in, I am pretty sure it's not a try out for High School Musicals 3. :p

Launch Crew is a group of youngsters, isn't it? Tumbling and break-dancing are just not right for people over 25.

I see you still haven't learned the meaning of the word tact.

As for the topic, I agree that some of those girls (especially the last one) look quite immature physically. The first thing I thought when I saw them was "T-minus 10 seconds before Kam's newest crush".

sweet suzie sucks (yes, I know, awesome use of alliteration). please do not put her in front of a microphone again this year. please, i pray to you, oh decider of rockets commercial break entertainment. do NOT make me suffer through another year of that annoying, uncomfortable, shrill voice pointlessly discussing where the "roulette" ball will land or whatever other ridiculously stupid promotion she is put in charge of...

...i'm sure she does a great job behind the scenes being in charge of these types of groups. please leave her back there.

In order to join the Launch Crew, an individual must be 18 years of age and a high school graduate as of Oct. 1, 2007.

The Launch Crew, which is entering its fifth season, is an interactive team that showcases its raw talent with gravity-defying flips, stunts and dance moves during Rockets games
