I had a dream that Delhomme got injured, but it wasn't Carr that replaced him.. HAHAHAHAH, Carr was third-string.
Didn't see this posted yet: [ESPN] http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/columns/story?columnist=clayton_john&page=1stand10/07week2 10. Houston Texans at Carolina Panthers Even though David Carr isn't expected to play, he should be imploring his new teammates to beat the Texans. The Texans coaching staff ran Carr out of town because he took too many sacks, but the organization never gave him a good offensive line or a consistent running game. Matt Schaub was brought into Houston for his quick release and smart decisions. But Houston still was Carr's team in the former No. 1 pick's his eyes. Carr should try to buy the defensive line a big dinner if it can notch several sacks against Schaub. The Panthers have the talent on defense to give Houston problems. The Texans had no trouble breezing by a bad Chiefs team last Sunday, but the Panthers will be much tougher. Last Sunday at St. Louis, Jake Delhomme looked good running new offensive coordinator Jeff Davidson's offense. In this system, the ball is spread around to more than just Steve Smith. Davidson even involved the tight end, something that never happened under Dan Henning. The Panthers' offensive line might have to pay more attention to Mario Williams, who finally had a big game after lining up exclusively on the right side of the defense.
On the Texans website, there is a vid on the main page from the FSN preview of the game with a lot of interviews. A bunch of the Panthers said this Houston Texans team and our past as an expansion team are like night and day. They said WE ARE FOR REAL. Props from the panther players.
Considering we did nothing but run the ball at the end of last season which included the win against the Colts, I say we gave him a plenty good running game.
Yeah, bad spot. I also noticed that Salaam set up the exact same way on the last play but that they didn't throw the flag again.
Agreed. Should have at least been at the sticks. Bad call. Also, usually according to the announcers on CBS the refs give a warning when LT's cheat back a little bit to try to offset a pass rush. Not this time!
