Well, a new soccer season started for my 4 year old today, and yours truly is the coach, yet again.......

He was too young to play last spring but they let him in, and he did ok, scored a goal or two a game, and at least mixed it up.

We went 9-1 and beat most teams by an average of about 20-3 or so, we lost one game, 11-7.

There are no keepers in our league, and this is an all new season. We had one practice and I was worried that our boys would have difficulties...well after winning 23-0 today and my son being high scorer with 6 goals, I am feeling pretty chipper.

We have a good mix of speed and skill, and the two boys who played in the spring are now the oldest on the team and MILES ahead of the other kids.

Gonna be a fun year.....undefeated, I can taste it.....

Wow, your team really owned in that game. What league is your team competing in? I remember when I was younger, I played in Cy-Fair and Candelight and I was lucky to always be on the good teams. One season, we went undefeated and won each game by like an average of ten goals. We qualified for some local tournament. We lost all but one game and didn't advance past the preliminaries, but our best player wasn't there and we struggled to score goals.

23-0 -- way to run up the score and break the hearts of all those children on the opposing team DaDakota.

23-0? why are they even keeping score at such a young age? serious changes need to be made to that league

Come on DaDa. You are a bit too competitive when you are bragging about how you coached a team of 4 year olds to a 23-0 victory in soccer.

I bet the league doesn't keep an official score, but DaDa probably keeps a little private scorecard while the game is going on.

My four year old nephew had his first soccer game last weekend. He had three goals...of course, one of the goals was into the wrong net, but I figure if they're not going to bother keeping score, then why worry about kicking it into the correct goal?

I played soccer when I was 5 (1975). We kept score but 5 goals was a high scoring game. What is going on?
