"I am going to sign with Houston," Mutombo said. "I am going to come back to the Rockets and play my final season." Mutombo is heading into the 17th season of his career. "I am going to play and enjoy it and walk away from it," Mutombo said. Rockets General Manager Daryl Morey went to Atlanta to meet with Mutombo last month to let him know how much the Rockets wanted him back. "That meeting meant a lot," Mutombo said. "They reached out to me and asked me to play one more year." The Rockets have a one-year offer to Mutombo on the table. Mutombo said his three years with the Rockets have been "wonderful" and that is why he is glad he will be wrapping up his career with the Rockets. "It's a great organization," Mutombo said. "I have a great relationship with the owner. I have a great relationship with the mayor and I love the city. I have been blessed." Mutombo hopes he will also be blessed with a shot at a championship. He believes the Rockets have what it takes to make a great run during the 2007-2008 season. "We are going to be very good," Mutombo said. "We have a chance to make a big impact this year."
Win for Deke---That should be the slogan.....not "it's time"...which sounds kind of presumptious. Deke makes a great inspirational Gipper anyway.
Our two pansy superstars better man up and win this one for Deke. If they don't at least go deep in the playoffs this coming season I'll start calling them losers from next year on.
1 more year of great entertainment from the Dik. From his finger wagging after each block to his reaction after Yao said "You cannot ****** stop me!" But a top of all that with Adelman's new system, I love the notion of watching Dike running up and down the court with those horse strides of a run.
When he used to play against the Rockets, I hated his finger wagging ... but know I LOL at it everytime
Deke beat Seattle in the playoffs by himself. Tmac and Yao have no excuses at this point. Do it for Deke!
Robert Pack went insane in that series. Deke was very important but by no means was he the only guy in that series.
