I have a DVR from my cable company. I recently got DirecTV service and will be taking the cable equipment back. There are a few shows on the DVR that I would like to keep. Is there anyway to hook-up a DVD recorder or even a VHS and save the material? Is there any other possible route? Any help is greatly appreciated.

yes, i copied some dvr material to a dvd...

used a dvd recorder, but it records whatever comes on the tv.

meaning you have to watch the whole program without switching channels or pausing.

on my cable company DVR, it has the option to "Record to VCR" when you choose the show and the screen with the options opens (play, block, erase, change save time, record to vcr)

hook up rca plugs from output2 (on my box it defaults to that output, it may be diff on yours) to the inputs on your vcr (or capture card if you go that route)
