Elway and Montana were good scramblers. Staubach and Bradshaw took their fair share down field runs as well. Steve Young was an exceptional runner, the epitome of the passer-runner QB. Also, most importantly, you are missing the baseline in "history". Look at all the stationary QBs who havn't gone to or won superbowls. There is a much rarer pool of passer-runner QBs, of course the have not got in total as many superbowls. You have to look at superbowl makes-wins by runer-passer QBs/ the number fo attempts by runner-passers versus the superbowl makes-wins by stationary-passer QBs/over their number of attempts. Would you take Jim Kelly or Kurt Warner or Troy Aikman over a Steve McNair or McNabb or Steve Young given comparable talent around them?
Maybe some day they will Freak, but I kinda doubt it, I don't think there ever will be sufficient "evidence" to some.
100 yards of total offense a TD, an interception, and a fumble. Yeah, he won the game. And Brett Favre was also responsible for his team's win yesterday too.
not to mention that the UT longhorn running game has still not recovered from his absence, two seasons later. But nah having to have a guy spy the QB every time because he is such a dangerous runner sure can't help your running game.
Since a 1 player spy had such little usefullness in containing him, I would adjust it to say "not having the whole defense slant to defend a dual threat" QB every time...... Listen to defenders talk about how demoralizing it is to have the right defense called versus an expected play call, to be in the right position, maybe even get your hands on him, and to still give up a big play. It was why a Greg D offense worked so well
Notice that each running back that has played with Vince the last 3 years has had a "career year": 2004: Cedric Benson - after a disappointing sophomore and junior year, suddenly has an outstanding senior year alongside Vince. 2005: Jamaal Charles - freshman year with Vince was much better than he has looked last year and this year thus far. 2006: Travis Henry - after a disappointing 2+ seasons with zero 100-yard rushing games, the first game Vince starts, Henry gets 100 yards and starts what ends up a fantastic season with multiple 100 yard games. 2007: Chris Brown - only one game so far, but he had a career best game. Could be just a strange coincidence, but that's very convenient.
points wins games. a game winner TD. yes. its not fantasy football. its real football, they have to score to win, Vince scored.
Lil Pun I by no means was trying to say that the Titans victory over the Jags was all credited to Vince. By no means at all. Our offensive line is one of best in the NFL. They played a great game dominating the Jags D-Line. Plus our D finally has some depth looks very solid. L White had a solid game and Chris Brown had a monster game. If credit needs to be given for the victory it would go to our O-line and running backs. But as was mentioned earlier. The opposing D always has to keep an extra spy out for Vince. There is no stat where this comes into play. But as was pointed out so nicely by Major. Just look at the way the running game benefits by having Vince as the QB. Vince is still learning the game. It sure is nice watching him learn and the Titans continue to get the W's. Next up is the Colts. Can't wait to beat up on them....
dude the haters won't recognize that CHRIS BROWN was the AFC offensive player of the week. cause he wants to RUN IT RUN IT RUN IT
