Well, in Chinese(language), we do have our burden and load "on the shoulder", not "on the back".

just trying to help. In English, Load figuratively means responsibility, too, as in "Shoulder the Load". So, you could say, Shouldering the Load Getting Heavier for Yao Ming, for instance.

 

in terms of figurative speech, we typically reserve "on" for "Chip on his shoulder."

that said, saying Yao Ming's Load on his Shoulder is uncommon/awkward, but it would be understood. It wouldn't be as awkward as "Load Over His Shoulder.

English can be so confusing sometimes.

 

Great translation still. I challenge anybody to be as knowledgeable as Pryuen in both languages.

But load on his shoulder probably would be a better word for word translation here.

 

But when translating to English, you should pick a correct English idiom to express that, right? "load on his back" is an idiom, so no one will misunderstand that as TMAC's back trouble.

The guy did spend hours translating for you. If you think you can read Chinese and English, and can do better, go ahead. Pryuen's English writing is a lot better than many people here I have to say.

 

I think you misunderstood it. People point out some translation issue, but their intention is not to embarrass Pryuen. I believe it actually helps him to improve his translation in the future.
