Online it says my mail is delivered but I don't see it anywhere and there is no note. Do mail carriers leave packages at the front door of apartments?
USPS tracking is BS. It is never right. Most of the time it says in transit and its already delivered. Or in this case, delivered but nowhere to be found. Just call your local post office and ask, because they don't leave a note. Or since you are in apartments, check with the leasing office.
good luck chief..i had something shipped "smartpost" where FedEx picks up and then hands off to USPS for delivery to customer. My tracking said "Carrier Notification Made" for 2 weeks. Then all the sudden 5 days worth of tracking appeared and said it was delivered! Lucky for me i got a refund because my package never made it to me. Some one said that if you call your post office you can sometimes catch your delivery guy and actually talk to him and find out what happened.
Yeah, i believe they just drop it off on the front door...I had my new receiver "smartposted" and luckily i was at home when they delivered it..
I know they sometimes do that at a house, but they usually don't do that with an apartment or they haven't done that before with me.
if your in houston they might have cut their routes short. If not, it may have been on the truck but the driver just didnt get to it.
usps usually leaves it with the apartment front office if it's unable to fit in your mail box. if not that then they'll leave you a slip saying to go pick it up. i think ups and the like come to your door first though.
I remember when I bought a phone from cingular last year, or two years ago, the UPS guy just left it at my door stop. I live on a cul de sac, and I heard the truck drive around and leave. I opened my door, and looked down and saw a freaking page addressed to me. lazy mofo.
FedEx is the only company I use for shipping anything except a letter, postcard and sometimes books. As said, USPS's tracking system is a joke.
Be careful with Fedex. I recently had an xbox 360 shipped that could not be delivered unless I signed for it, however the driver forged my signature and left it outside my walkup on street which happens to have heavy foot traffic...
Did you report it? The thing I like about FedEx is they have never done that when shipping with them. If you're not home, they leave you a note. UPS does it all the time and I have had USPS do it a few times before too. I really hate when UPS knocks 3 times, leaves the item by the door and goes on their way.
USPS is a joke. Bloated, old-school style of doing business. Why pay someone at a counter who takes packages and sells stamps over 35k a year? This is McDonalds-level skillset, and these people have a decent salary, benefits and pension plans. Maybe the actual deliverymen deserve a little more, but not much. Many Post Offices are in huge, grand buildings with marble floors and brass fixtures that are worth tens of millions of dollars if not more. And for this, I pay a bigger and bigger premium to mail the few bills and greeting cards I do a month. These guys really need a revamp. Move the post offices into warehouse-style buildings with small front offices without frills. Cut delivery days to Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. Hire cheap labor for post office staff. THEN put money into a decent tracking system and good management.
I had a similar problem with UPS. I had ordered something online for the wife and according to UPS's tracking site, it was delivered yesterday. Only problem was that it was nowhere to be found at my house. So, I go to the local UPS customer support center and they can't help me. Finally I find the tracking number and call them and they tell me, "You said it has the letters P and T in it?" I said yeah and then they say, "Oh, well it was delivered to the post office. We have no idea why that happens but when it has a P and a T in the tracking number that's what happens."
i ordered some merch from a music promotion site about 2 weeks ago, it was shipped on the 27th, i was given a USPS tracking number, but every time I go to track it it says Status: Electronic Shipping Info Received The U.S. Postal Service was electronically notified by the shipper on August 27, 2007 to expect your package for mailing. This does not indicate receipt by the USPS or the actual mailing date. Delivery status information will be provided if / when available. No further information is available for this item. what kind of r****ded BS is that?? "we've been notified that your shipper wants to ship it?? wtf! I called the actual company i ordered it from, they said they shipped it, (theyre located in Austin, so it should take a maximum of 5-7 days to get to houston).. its been.. almost 3 weeks.. still no sign of the package.. every time i call the USPS, they say they cant help me because no "delivery" has been posted yet, and they tell me to call my shipper, and when I call my shipper, they tell me to call the USPS. Im so tired of this crap.
