All right. This isn't a thread about political or religious views. Simply the things you don't get about other people, i.e. personality quirks, habits, that sort of thing, that make no sense whatsoever to you.

    I'll start:
Here's something I just don't get about my mother: She'll watch a movie once, and only once. She's just not interested if she's seen it before, regardless of how good said movie may be. It could have won eight million Oscars and been declared the greatest film ever made. If she's seen it once, that's enough.

Me, on the other hand: If its a great story, I'll want to see it again, and probably several times after that. I couldn't begin to guess how many times I've seen something like Pulp Fiction, which is damn near the definition of a movie that was meant to be seen more than once. I bought Black Snake Moan (GREAT effing movie, btw) and watched it. I had dinner with mom the very next night and watched it again. She loved it, but that's probably the last time she'll ever see it, or want to see it.

If its a great story, I'll want to hear it again at some point. Same goes for movies. Same goes for books and video games. Same goes for my friend's story about slacking off while painting a house one summer in Ft. Collins, CO. If we've been drinking and he's in a story-telling mood, its fricking hysterical.

That's one example. What are some things about other people that you just don't understand?

The left lane is for faster traffic dammit (yeah...I'm talking to you California drivers on I-15)!!! It's not your personal cruise-at-my-own-speed lane! I don't understand why it is so hard for people to get this!

Actually... I'm not big on seeing movies twice myself either. Ive only seen Departed and Heat twice. There are so many movies out there, why waste time on something you already know? Just me. So I could say I don't understand people watching Terminator 35 times.

I don't understand why there are people that take out huge loans, or terrible leases on a $65,000 Lexus or Mercedes, and then live in an apartment. I know its their money/fiscal descision to do that, but why not drive a less expensive car, combine their rent money and their high auto costs and purchase or at least save to purchase an affordable home instead of a depreciating asset.

Utah is one of the most beautiful places to visit. I just avoid talking basketball with anyone, because they love their Jazz.

Something I don't understand is why people can be so reckless around motorcycles while driving. I mean some people are just downright dangerous.

Why do people feel the need to have these cell phones that look like little computers, with the full keyboard and screen etc.? All I need from mine is to make and recieve calls and an occasional text message or two. I don't need internet, mp3 players, or any of that other crap.

I don't understand these women with the cell phones attached to their ears while they drive. Can you put the cell phone down for a few minutes and drive? I'm sure who ever you're talking to can wait 10 minutes for you to tell them all the day's gossip...

Because they (1) don't know a freaking thing about how to manage money, and (2) think they deserve a luxury automobile even when they can't afford one.

I don't understand how women refuse to wear pantyhose because they say its hot, yet they wear the tightest fukin jeans ever. Which are like 50X thicker than pantyhose.

I've never seen a movie I like once, meaning if I like it, I'll most certainly see it again (sometimes the next day).

To answer the OP's question, I hate it when people close to you change for the worse as they get older. People used to be so cool, now they're so snobby. What happened?

    Great question!!!!!!

It's never made sense to me. A skirt with pantyhose has got to be a LOT cooler than tight jeans.

Perhaps it has to do with Nylon versus Cotton.

    Just a guess.

In a related thing, how come people always talk about jeans as so comfortable to wear compared to other pants. I don't know about you, but most of the slacks/pants/khakis/shorts/etc. are actually more comfortable than jeans due to the thickness.

There's no way that the denim is less hot than the nylon.

I'd be willing to bet that the answer is... with pantyhose, women have to shave their legs. With jeans, they don't.

They probably don't want to admit that they're too lazy to shave their legs. Instead, they cook up the "they're too hot" excuse.
