I like the new design.... Gives a pure, hardwood feeling.

If, you are viewing the live feed, then you can see that it's almost done. Looks pretty good.

I hope the wood doesn't look yellow on TV like the old court design. All that red was also an eyesore.

Yep, the main reason why they are changing the court. The red absorbed way too much of the Toyota Center lighting.

No, because to have an alternate uniform, the Rockets would have had to submit an application and approval from the NBA office. Jonathan Feigen said the Rockets did not do this.

The gray sucks. I'm glad they got rid of that gray painted area in the top of the key. Gray jerseys would suck.

This may sound a little weird, but i want them to take everything out and replace it with a thick giant rocket with a throbbing vein through it.

I think if don't paint the rest of the court, they can save the money and put it into the design so that it can be the first "moving" design on the court. We can make it wiggle and shoot rocket juice at the opposing team. This would of course be a graphic on the floor and we wouldn't actually see opposing players being drenched with rocket juice by a giant throbbing rocket, unfortunately.

how boring. i hate all of these new ticonderoga courts.

give me the 95-96 floor with the blue wings, rocket blasting off and stars everywhere court any day.

but i think the worst part is that with so many teams are going with this ticonderoga home depot lumber section approach, it takes away from the uniqueness of every arena. back in the day you got to look forward to seeing the celtics' classic parquet floor, the bulls' sleek black court, the honeycomb pattern in charlotte, the rocket blasting off in houston, etc.
