My email to them today: I bought Easy Media Creator 7.5 about 3 years ago, in a phone call to Roxio. ... It crashes constantly, an average of 2 to 3 times per half-hour video edited. I've lived with that. Now I'm trying to make a DVD with DVD Builder. My old Sonic software at least had submenus. I can't find any submenus in DVD Builder. The "help" directory and the manual tell me nothing. I just logged on to this site. It asked me for my CD key number. I rummaged in the box, found a CD case that says "EMC/UN PROG CD V7.5," and typed in the CD key number. Your site then informs me my key number is invalid. It boils down to this: Can I create submenus, or the equivalent, in DVD Builder? I'm making a DVD of home movies, and I need submenus so the person playing the DVD (grandma) can click back and forth from one bunch of short videos to another without having to page through 7 menus. (I can't even find a main menu option on DVD builder, so I can title the opening page.) If DVD Builder has submenus or the equivalent, please tell me how to access them. Otherwise I'm on the verge of pulling the plug and buying Nero instead. Their reply: Thank you for contacting Roxio Technical Support The software which you are inquiring about has not been shipped within the last year and is beyond its support life. This software is no longer available and our technicians cannot provide telephone or e-mail support for this product. ... We recommend you contact us to find out what your upgrade options are. There are a number of attractive pricing packages for our current product; Easy Media Creator 10. I'm done with these losers. Anybody out there got Nero or some other media-creating software you'd recommend?
...and that's another reason that I don't pay for software. I used to like Adobe Encore, but I haven't worked with it for about 2 or 3 years.
Nero is pretty much the package for me. Always reliable and its handled almost all the things that i throw at them. If you're in Houston, go to Directron off of beltway 8 and Harwin. They have tons of copies of Nero lying around for $1 or even free, all you have to do is ask.
Yeap. I stopped using them because my XPS system came with a Roxio RecordNow software that never let me install Roxio 9 on top of it... said it had a "unrecoverable error" or something like that (I can't remember now). I have been able to get simple programs like DVDDecrypter or DVDShrink or others out there to do what Roxio would do before for me in other systems. Trouble is, that I used them only for the video-editing software, and now I have other free ones. I feel your pain, Will . I hate Roxio as well. Ulead DVD WorkShop does well for me, and I only use the ROXIO recorder for burning shows or videos that I use with Windows Media Center. Argh.
www.oldversion.com Download Nero version 6.6.0.13 I have some extra serial numbers. I can send you the serial code for free via email.
So bad. I usually just used Nero. Also, I have just started to play with the imovie/idvd combination on this new macbook, and it's pretty solid. The templates it has loaded are nice too.
I just bought a new Sony AVCHD camcorder and am looking for some editing software for my movies any recommendations? I know there are only a couple of softwares out that will edit the avchd footage and am leaning toward Sony Vegas Premier that newegg has on sale for $80.
