Crispee - I agree what with your saying. Damn you sound like a coach. I got a question. HOw long does he practice and is he on the court by himself? How does he act around the court?
He does practice the type of shots you speak of, two hours or so prior to the game, with Jim Boylen and others.
The only shots he was taking WAY before the game were 3s. I was there early and people were practicing jumpers while he only practiced 3s.
Eddie is a 3 superstar in the waiting, similar to KG. Actually his jumper is better in his rookie season than Garnett's. I really look for Eddie to be 3 with TMorris backing up Eddie and MoTaylor coming back with Kenny backing him up and Willis starting with Cato backing him up. Oscar Torres, Walt, and Rice with scrub time, period.
crispee-Did you see him stick the midrange jumper in the garbage time in the 4th? (If I remember it right, it was a Pick and Roll with Mooch, but I could be wrong). Also, Bill and Calvin mentioned that the 3 rooks, Griff, Morris, and Torres (I think he said Torres?) work with Larry Smith and play some real hard 2-on-2 games on game day around 2-3.
You're right, this is disturbing. Even if this is all he can contribute now, shouldn't he be practicing for the future? You mean, he is practicing turn-arounds, etc... or are you referring to the 26 footers ?
Turn arounds, mid-range jumper, etc.... It would be nice to see Eddie get his number called on the offensive end a little more. Of course, he hardly ever gets any playing time I understand the whole "getting acclimated to the NBA environment" thing regarding Griffin's playing time, but it still bothers me that we're benching a player who's strengths could help offset our weaknesses defensively. Giving Griffin 52 seconds of playing time at the end of halves isn't going to help him progress as a player. Coming into the season, when I thought of "spot" minutes for him, I envisioned him playing the last 2-3 minutes of quarters. But alas, he's hardly seen the court of late, even seeing no playing time in one game.
