All day long there have been two giant tour buses parked on my street, in addition to a semi filled with concert gear like lights etc. There are also promotion company trucks and a "97.9 The Box" car. There are cops all over the place and very large men speaking into walkie-talkies, and they even set up a roped off 'line' area into one of the townhouses a couple of lots down from me and I can hear low frequency 'drum and base' from in front of my house.

This is on Harold just to the SW of Westheimer & Montrose, which isn't some sleepy zoned residential neighborhood, but at the same time I've never seen anything remotely like this in the years I have owned my house, and I am severely pissed that I have to deal with all this crap on my doorstep. Imagine having all the crap from a full fledged concert venue thrown down right in front of your house.

WTF??? Does anybody know what is going on or what this is?

Ah calm down. I had it worse a couple yrs ago. My neighbor at my apartment complex dealed drugs, got into bloody fights on my door step often, even played heavy ass RAP music with all the bass going through the walls. This won't last long, take a chill pill.

A concert right in front of your house?! This is a golden opportunity to pull tang and bring it home. Don't screw it up!

I hope you like rap, because that wouldn't be fun at all listening to that stuff all day. Anywho, a 97.9 van is better than having a 101.1 or a 102.7 van outside.. although not that much better in my opinion. I'd rather have 104.9 or 104.1.

Ok that's one thing I learned today. I'll be sure to remember that for next time :(

When the concert's done, you can go across the street and do your groceries at Disco Kroger's.

Disco Kroger's does not play disco music, but Sunny 99.1 and K-Hits-esque music.

University Blue, who remembers doing groceries to "Red Skies at Night"...on aisle 11.

That 97.9 The Box van was at the Kroger on Tidwell and Antoine a few weeks ago. They were having a live remote, I guess.

There was some dude inside playing the guitar and singing to pre-recorded songs on a little boom-box over by the bakery...

Now, don't misunderstand me, I've played some CRAPPY CRAPPY gigs in my day, but I can honestly say that I've never played a gig at a Kroger bakery. :D
