That makes sense, the rest before and after thing. I can maybe rest 3 hours before the job and then 5 hours after. Hmmm....
Yeah thats withdrawl. You took to much. Coffee has way to much to just keep you awake. You only really need 60-80mg where a cup of latte or whatever can have upwards of 200mg. Again the point is to stay awake not get high. REALLY high blood levels then a crash peaks you out and brings on dependancy REALLY fast. Coffee is supposed to be a recreational drink like beer. Not a method to stay awake and alert. If you are really concerned about dependancy then rotate Nicotine, caffeine and ephedrine each week. The bottom line is dosage and blood levels. Using 2 60mg doses over 4 hours is better to keep you awake. 1 200mg dose is a typical coffee dose.
This is a bad idea. It ends up being like 2 short days in 1. You never hit deep sleep and that 8 hours you are getting is not like a typical 8 hours.
Actually they give them dextroamphetamine tablets, and then given a benzodiazepine when they return so they can sleep, so really not much different than meth.
I second this suggestion. There is a reason why caffeine is considered a drug. Having a little a day is good for your body, but using it as a day-to-day crutch is very bad for you.
If this were a regular 9-5 job, I wouldn't recommend it, but in this case, he will be up during the daytime and will sleep without daylight, making it easier. Lil Pun, you can try sleeping a complete 8 hours before, but be disciplined about it... get plenty of SLEEP. That's the safest stimulant to do well at work. Good luck, man.
Yeah it seems like a good idea but what ends up happening is the 3 hours nets VERY little quality sleep. Then when you throw in real life you end up only getting 2-2.5 hours during that session. Our bodies were designed for 24 hour cycles. Putting them on a 12 hour cycle is bad and you will feel it. I am speaking from night shift experience here guys (as if you had not noticed) It takes an hour or 2 just to get to quality deep sleep. Also think about having to wake up after 3hours of sleep to go to work. It freaking sucks.
In double blind administrations of methamphetamine and dextroamphetamine people can not tell the difference between the two.
There is nothing in the world like waking up after 2-3 hours of sleep to go work the graveyard shift. That was horrible. Fortunately for me, it was also over 25 years ago.
Your little article does little to prove or disprove anything. At most, it says there is no concrete evidence to support whether its good or bad. Instead of reading vague science articles(these days, like statistics, you can find anything to support your side of a topic) , look at the symptoms of high caffeine use. Once again, moderate use is ok/good, high use (of anything) is not good for the body.
Besides Caffeine and legal? Laxatives it might not be the most pleasant way to stay awake but it will keep you up! I doubt you get much work done though
I take this herbal energy supplement called Ginseng Energy Now. It has no caffeine or no sugars. Its all natural herbal supplement with Korean Ginseng, Brazilian Ginseng, Wild Indian Ginseng, Gingko Biloba, GoldenSeal Root, Green Tea, and Echinacea Whole Plant and some other herbs. Its really good, and keeps you awake for a while especially if you are feeling drowsy. http://www.xtremeformulavitamins.com/ginseng-energy.htm You can buy these a box of this on Ebay for around 12 bucks. They sell individual packets at convenience stores, if you just want to try out a packet before buying a larger quantity.
That's the thing, I hate coffee and never drank it. I drank stuff like tea and sodas that has caffeine in them but I didn't drink them to stay awake, I just drank them because I liked them. Sorry but I am not going back and taking the chance of those headaches and fatigue because it happens now if I ust have a sip of tea or soda, I feel it later on. I am sticking to my diet Sprites, root beers and bottled water.
