It is halftime and Texas is leading Arizona 43-37.... but that isn't the best part. T.J. Ford has 10 assists in the FIRST HALF of his FIRST GAME in college. I don't know if I have ever seen a better pure college point guard than this guy. His passes are great and he does a beautiful job of changing the tempo and keeping the opposing defense off balance, and he doesn't seem to force anything.

If you have forgotten what a pure point guard can do, then watch a Texas game ASAP. It is going to be fun seeing how many assists this guy can average.

    Gutsy too.

He's in some serious pain and he's still playing.

Meanwhile, in his absence, Texas fell apart, dammit.

Yeah once TJ went out seems it took a little energy outta us. We weren't shooting lights out from 3 pt area like we did in the 1st half and that horrid free throw shooting was killer. The crowd was louder compared to last year though.

I would say Jason Kidd was the best pure PG I've ever seen as a true freshman.

    Nonetheless, TJ played well.

The problem is that he will need to be able to hit more of those runners, and convert some layups to keep the defense honest.

If he establishes himself as a poor shooter, teams will make sure to not help out on him, and force him to shoot an 8 ft jumper or so.

The best part is UT never has to worry about him leaving early with that "shot" of his.
