Thanks for the props Roxtxia. Imho, Grant would cost too much & for the potential to disrupt our team chemistry that Oakley would bring, I'd be real leary of trading for him. However, if Curry was included in the deal, then we can talk. I'd really hate to give up on Collier just yet, but Davis would give us some additional beef up front, now. I could see Rudy platooning Willis & Davis at the center spot primarily & some at the PF spot with KT & Griffin. I'd either put Cato at the end of the bench or place him on IR for the rest of his contract. Next year, when MO comes back, I could see KT (with his size & quickness) playing some at the SF position, backing up Rice. T-Mo & Langhi would just have to wait until Rice's contract expires. We could have a lineup this year of: C: Willis/Davis/Cato PF: KT/Davis/Griffin SF: Rice/T-Mo/Langhi SG: Mobley/Torres PG: Francis/Moochie .....& next year it could be: C: Willis/Davis/Cato PF: MO/Davis/Griffin SF: Rice/KT/T-Mo or Langhi SG: Mobley/Torres PG: Francis/Moochie Now, if we could just convince Krause to trade us Curry for Cato.
I like this trade better. I think they are looking for a center... Houston trades: Dan Langhi $465,850 to Portland Houston trades: Kelvin Cato $6,048,000 to Portland TOTAL: $6,513,850 Portland trades: Dale Davis $7,010,000 to Houston TOTAL: $7,010,000 TRADE ACCEPTED
How about Cato for Pippen? Okay bad joke. But please no Griffin trades yet. Have we stopped picking on Mobley and now are eager to rid of Griffin instead? The only trade we need to do is one involving Cato. Griffin and Maurice are going to be perfect compliments to each other in the future. Griffin would be 3 on defense and 4 on the offense, and vice versa for Maurice. If we only had a good center damnit!
These trades are totally one sided. Portland would be out of their minds to take Cato back...they've got enough disfunctional players already.
How about Griffin, Cato, and Walt for Duncan? The Spurs won't be able to resign him once the Ensign retires anyway. At least then they could get something for him, plus they could still be good with Griffin ant the 4 and the slight upgrade from Bowen to Walt at the three. They even get a couple of long-term solutions at the center out of the deal. The ROX side of the deal is obvious.
I would accept every trade proposed/tossed about in this thread. They are all ridiculously lopsided in the Rox favor...
I could see Rudy trading for LaFrenzt he is the player they wanted Collior to be. He shoots way better than Cato and even blocks more shots. Denver has two good pf in Dysse and LaFrentz and wants to play one next to a full time center. I read LaFrentz wants to stay. I would love to get Dysse. Maybe Cato, our injured reserve players, cash, and maybe draft picks. We could play him at center. He is better than Cato nomatter how you look at it. Yes he s undersized, like dream, but there aren't any more good centers. He is quicker than any other center. And besides Shaq, who would he have problems guarding? It would be silly for them to let him go but if he let them know he would not resign and Lafrentz will they might think about it. Plus they aren't having succees with him and their management isn't too smart.
I'd actually take Pippen for Cato. I can't think of another more insulting way to tell Portland that we got the better end of the deal. And even though Pippen sucks, he's still very tradeable. I'd trade his ass back to the Bulls for a rookie big man (and keep Walt, who is just a poor-man's Pippen), or to the Wizards...
8 games into the season and its as clear as untinted glass that we can't compete with the elite teams unless we lose kelvin cato to injury or trade. We are a lot better team when we have a short-armed 17 year veteran on the floor than cato.I could be wrong but he seems to be on the bench every time we make our comebacks or when we are in good offensive groove. You would think with his youth, height, and weight, it would be quite the opposite,yo.Move cato and langley for roster space,in my opinion thats all they represent.
I'm afraid that we missed our chance to trade Cato for any value. We're going to have to face the truth, we're stuck with him until his contract expires. By now, everyone knows that the guy either can't or won't live up to his potential. Everyone in the NBA knows that Rudy is a player's coach, an excellent teacher with great assistants around him, & a great motivator, but it's become very apparent that not even he can light a fire under Cato for any prolonged period of time. Our chances of reuniting him with Floyd are fading by the day as well. I doubt that Floyd will make it to the end of the year with the Bulls. In the end, the Rockets are going to have to keep him, waive him, or get taken to the cleaners in any trade involving him. Seeing the way Willis being in the game picks up the tempo, makes me hate the Warriors even more for matching Jackson's offer sheet.
finally a fair deal proposed. 1 outta 75 aint bad. wont be that hard? well certainly harder than the garbage offered here (above idea excluded) many times. griff for duncan/kg ??? LOL! dont offer cato for raef anymore please. aaaaahhh, now you realize what we (nugget fans) see everytime we read a raef trade proposal on this board. cato, IR players, cash and picks for dice? you are a friggin idiot. period. the funny part is you try and justify that deal AS IF its questionable. AS IF its debatable and you have to think about it? AS IF the rockets might not do it and they need convincing. you shouldnt post anymore. seriously.
Nugz, I normally feel that you are a fairly good poster (for a nuggets fan ) but arent you being a bit harsh when ppl post trade ideas that concern dice and laef? Recognize that its just a bit of dreamcasting and chill. Tell them that you dont think it would happen or even that you think its an idiotic idea, but telling someone they are an idiot and that they shouldnt post anymore is abit overboard dont ya think? Not meaning any disrespect to ya ( I think you are one of the better opposing team posters) just callin it how I see it. btw, How bout Lanky,Collier, and Lamo for Dice?? We will even throw in Calvin to sweeten the deal!
if they are dreaming, then say its a dream. dont act like its a fair deal. dont act like it might happen. dont act like the rocks would think about it. say 'i wish' or 'in my dreams' or 'ya never know' and throw smileys around. use em liberally! (like that) (or this) or a wink like this i can see that you understand it. you got a couple right there. but others dont seem to get the idea or have much basketball knowledge outside houston.
