Don't you just hate it when you completely choke on an interview question, then five minutes after the interview is over, you think of the perfect answer? SH*T!!!!
its never happened to me, I actually enjoy interviews. It seems I get better with every single one I have. I do hate when they ask questions like.. Why do you think we should hire you? I mean, its freakin obvious, because I need a damn job and you guys are hiring!! or like if they ask, if you saw someone stealing, what would you do. The obvious answer is tell on them, but then what if the interviewer is the one stealing and he doesn't like snitches.
The questions don't bother me as much as awkward silence after I answer. I still got the job. It was 10 years ago. The interview was supposed to last 45 minutes. We were done in 15 and it was like, "Well, that's it? Nice talkni to ya". Then the following week, "swilkins... Would you like to work in our team?"
I personally believe that U.S. Americans are unable to do so because, uh, some.. people out there in our nation don't have maps, and, uh, I believe that our addeducation, like such as in South Africa, and, uh, the Iraq, everywhere like, such as, and, I believe that, they, should, our education over HERE in the U.S. should help the U.S., oh, or should help South Africa and should help the Iraq and the [DING] Asian countries so we will be able to build up our future, for..
Well, it wasn't quite THAT bad. I was a little rusty. I haven't had a "real" job interview in over four years. At least I didn't say "poo"...
The ones I hate are the ones where the interviewer is reading a bunch of irrelavent, touchy-feely type questions from a handbook that have nothing to do with your work experience or the job you're applying for. Like: "Describe a situation where you have been frustrated by a co-worker. Explain how you overcame it." This is especially stupid when you're interviewing for a different postion for the same company you currently work for. Can we just drop the BS and let me tell you why I would be good for this position?
What I hate more than interview pet peeves is HR department pet peeves....like when they say they'll definitely contact you next week, and you're lucky to hear from them a month down the road.
Or when they interview you the Friday before they go on vacation for 2 weeks. Seriously, this has happened to me twice in the last 12 months! WTF?!?!?
I always hate it when I am on a job interview and I forget to wear a long sleeved shirt. One of these days I will remember to wear one so my "Kraftwerk" tattoo will be concealed.
Yep, I was asked almost that exact same question. I didn't get the dreaded "What would you say are your weaknesses?" question. That was the one question for which I DID have a pretty good answer lined up...
Yeah, I think having a Kraftwerk tattoo is pretty much an automatic "no"... Now, a Rammstein tattoo? You are so hired...
What about a tatoo of a beloved cartoon duck performing unspeakable acts upon a certain cartoon mouse that a lot of people like?
Seems like the bigger the company or organization, the more disconnected and unorganized their HR department is, and the more disjointed and confusing their interview/hiring process is.
absolutely. our organization is large and HR is next to worthless. To get any hired departments and managers have to feed resumes to HR, rather than the way its suppose to go, i.e. HR feed resumes to departments.
I hate it when they ask me "Are you a registered sex offender?" !! DUMBasses. I haven't even registered yet!
