Before the game, Cowboys fans were talking all the Mario Williams smack... about how he hadn't had a tackle in 2007. They laughed at Romo's fumble and Mario's ensuing sack. Funny how it wasn't "just the preseason" then.

can someone tell me why Jacoby can't field KR as well? is it just b/c they want Mathis to get touches?

Mathis is a pro-bowl returner and he really hasn't done anything to lose his job. Plus...Mathis will be our full-time PR and will be our #3 (if not #2) WR, so I think its better that he isn't doing too much.

One thing is evident, we could possibly have the best special teams in the NFL outside of the Bears.

That TD pass to Jacoby before the end of the 1st half was as nice a play as I've ever seen from a Texans QB. David Carr would have NEVER made that play. NO WAY NO HOW.

Our offense looks like a real NFL offense. We actually have some weapons and FINALLY a QB with some pocket presence.

Funny how we haven't heard anyone ragging on our O-line yet. I'm starting to think Carr was more the problem than the line. A QB with some pocket presence makes them look a whole lot better than they really are.

Sucks that the starters probably won't see any time next week, but after that...... I'm ready for some FOOTBALL!

Im pretty sure Jacoby will be fielding the punts...and Mathis will not be a top 3 WR on the team...AJ, JJ, and Walter...then possibly Mathis.

I absolutely agree, and I think most people yelling for getting rid of Carr felt this was exactly why.

It was also nice to see the team play fired up. It definitely seems like they were playing hard. I hope it doesn't only happen when they play the cowboys.

Is Mathis a lock to make the team? For me, the roster cuts are one of the hardest parts of following an NFL team. Can some of you guys that eat/sleep the Texans bring me up to speed? Seems like they have a lot of WR cuts ahead and I'm not even sure who the #4 guy is at this point. It's going to be ugly the next 7 days as teams go from 80+ players down to 53.

It was good to see Mario Williams show a pulse yesterday.

If you want to know why Cowboys fans are so gung ho its because well, the Texas Rangers are and always will be the equal to a AAA team. Have they even ever made the playoffs yet?

And the mavs CHOKE> I mean, come on, up to to Miami , then choke in the finals. Then this year they choke to the warriors after having the best record in the league.

So basically, the cowboys is all they have ever had and ever will have. They worship the cowboys. Even though the TExans ARE better.

They keep saying its a preseason, well, once teams figure out all they do on defense is blitz , and that Owens SUCKS. I mean, I cant believe espn all they talka bout is owens, yet he would be like the fourth or fifth or sixth reciever on the texans with all those dropped balls and anger management issues.

Yes the cowboys have a winning history, but Romo sucks, and so they have no future like the texans do. The only reason they won last year is Carr is a joke.

Oh, and lets not forget, just like the choking mavs, the cowboys choked in the playoffs last year. HAHA HAHAHAHAHHAA

If I had to guess, based on what I have seen so far in preseason, I think the WR plays like this. 5 WRs carried into regular season.

    Andre Johnson
    Kevin Walter
    Jacoby Jones
Jerome Mathis (showing improvement as a receiver, plus the KR gets him on)
Andre Davis (shown the most promise of all that are left)

I know that leaves Keenan Mcardel on the outside, but he hasn't done anything to impress me this preseason anyway.

this pisses me off...this happens everytime. everytime a team loses to the texans its because "they played bad"....they NEVER give the texans props. Maybe they didnt even stop to think that the cowboys actually played good and are a great team, but a an even better team beat them. ..and if its just "a silly trophy" then why are they worried so much about losing to the texans?

bottom line, this all goes back to the reggie bush thing. the national media has brainwashed EVERYONE that the texans are a joke and always will be a joke. I can see it now, even if the texans make the playoffs its because 'colts played bad" or some other excuse.

David Carr is a great athlete, now that vick's ruined his career I believe carr maybe the fastest the guy in the nfl playing qb. He's obviously tough and has a cannon, and he also seems smart.

but he just never seemed to have a feel for the game. even when he scrambled he seemed to just put his head down like a bull in a china shop. I can't believe some people couldn't see what some others have been saying all along after the first game against the titans last season when he was benched. the same game where the titans ended the first half with a sack and fumble for a td, sage comes in and the offense runs ten times more smoothly.

i couldn't believe people couldn't see it with sage in the last preseason. there is no way the texans o line was as bad as made out to be, there hasn't been many changes in the offense runs ten times more smoothly. i don't know if carr was ruined by his first two seasons, but i've never seen it from him.

its not just pocket presence, its the way he used to bounce the balls of his receivers' shoulder pads throwing rockets on 5 yard passes. its the way he scrambled like I mentioned earlier.

Wow...was just watching ESPN. They are quickly going through the highlights of last night's NFL games. The Texans game gets its turn and all they show is the TO highlight, then they mention that TO burned the Texans last year...and then they moved onto the next game.

Yeah, Texans get no love on ESPN. I can't believe Jacoby's punt return wasn't on there.

You gotta earn respect. A good preseaon isn't enough to do it.

Imagine what will happen if we start out 3-0 or 5-1. This city will go crazy. The ESPN machine won't recognize it, which means other teams will keep underestimating us. :)
