I just found this thread, I kind of wish I was as rocked up as The Thing.

For those of you who have listened to the station so far, thanks. And for those of you who given us feedback on our show, thanks also. We welcome the good, the bad, and the ugly and there's been some of each so far. The signal and show quality, I can assure you, will both continue to improve. (The signal will get better before the show quality, admittedly) This Radio Thing is having fun doing the radio thing. Hopefully, you all can join us out on our remotes at Ragin Cajun, first one next Thur 8/30 at the one on Richmond.

    Thanks,
    Sean

    Cablin,

    Welcome.

Word to the wise: the sooner you start talking Rockets the better. Otherwise you won't find this a friendly place to visit.

    Welcome to clutchfans Sean!

So far I've only listened to the morning and afternoon shows. It's good to hear Granato back on the air, but I think he struggles at times by himself. I really wish Lance would join back up with him. Together they had an awesome show.

I like the dynamic between Sean and John and think they will only get better. You can tell they are both kinda winging it but I think they make a good team.

I wonder...does 1560 have any aspirations of eventually becoming a flagship station for either the Texans, Rockets, or Stros?

Thank you for gracing us with your presence. I look forward to watching and listening to you develop as a broadcaster. I also look forward to Kige Ramsey being on your show. It's nice to be excited about radio again. I gotta admit, there is something endearing about listening to your, um, less than perfect launch. May the force be with you.

Welcome to Clutchfans, otherwise known as Andre Ware's "inside source".... Don't be a stranger.

Really enjoy the station when I can actually pick it up. Can't wait until you get that signal straightened out.

It's going to be hard to choose between 1560 and 610 in the afternoon because I really enjoy Matt Jackson, who also hangs around on this site and gives us an occasional scoop (hint hint). The morning, on the other hand, is no contest..especially when John finally brings Lance back in.

Mark V is a great guy who really tries his best, but Andre is unlistenable. He won't get off this kick that Adleman's offense doesn't fit Yao. He just doesn't understand, no matter how much Mark tries to correct him, that it's a HALFCOURT offense that will BENEFIT Yao, not a run-and-gun Phoenix offense. His Rocket takes are just awful.

Besides the whole reception thing, I think you guys have a great show. John Harris (WMD) has just taken over Pallilo's spot as the smartest guy on the radio, at least as far as football goes, but I like how Sean keeps it loose. As far as the other shows go, Granato's decent by himself, but he needs someone to interact with (Lance!). Richard Justice has had some awesome interviews for the past week, hopefully it'll continue. Hoffman's show has been surprisingly good, he has some great stories and Pupura in studio with him was interesting. One suggestion for tomorrow might be to throw a little fantasy football talk in, I'm sure there are going to be a ton of drafts this weekend. So far, I like the line up..best of luck to you guys!

Ditto on Hoffy. That guy is hilarious. When the batboy said the players "fist" him I thought I was gonna pee myself.

i want to listen to hoffman.

but the reception is pure crap right now.

I'm still a 610 fan boy because i've been listening to them for ten years now.

Thanks for the warm welcome. First, I want you guys to know that I fully understand the need to talk Rockets on our show to ensure that I am treated in a friendly fashion in this forum. I don't want you guys to go all Kobra Kai on Larusso on my ass. We mixed in a Rafer Alston take in our "Turth or Lies" segment today (complete with our board op Kyle pronouncing his name "Raffa" Alston. God bless him.) We'll be a very hoops friendly show especially when the season starts to roll around, trust me.

Other items you guys hit on:

    - The signal. It's only going to get better. We had a major hit on Sunday right before launch and it was either go live on the date we promised at less than full strength or delay. We chose the former. But hey, the empire was working with a half built Death Star in Return of the Jedi, and that worked out just....oh wait never mind. (That was a token Star Wars reference for Chance)

    - Our lineup. I honestly don't get to listen to that much of the other guys because John and I are doing show prep (which consists of nailing down topics, surfing websites, and putting together interview questions), on the phone booking guests (keep in mind we are starting from scratch in the "contacts" department) and cutting sound for the show opens, show close and drops and what not. John G has been exactly as expected, which means if you liked him before, you like him now (minus the static) and I've always liked John. Justice has had great guests but I've probably heard him least because 10-12 is probably our most intense prep time. Hoffy has been really good and I can tell you he was and still is totally concerned about how he sounds. I personally think he's one of the funniest people in any medium and if you could see his face while he does his show, you'd laugh ten times harder.

As for JH and I, I think for having only done this for four days, we're doing pretty well. I mean, until Monday, neither of us had ever gotten in and out of a break before, worked a talk show phone board, and done an interview. When you look at it that way, KGOW took a big chance in bringing us both on and we intend to make it a risk that pays off for everyone. I can tell you that it's a HUGE luxury to have a guy like JH as a partner whose knowledge level is beyond ridiculous. I thought I knew a lot. JH is the true weapon of mass destruction in the area of sports knowledge. I think our chemistry is good and will only get better. We've become pretty good friends in the last month which helps.

(TIME OUT - HOLY ****! Bonnie Bernstein is doing Sportscenter!! No Cinemax necessary tonight!! ok, back to my thoughts....)

Ok, where was I? Oh yeah, our show....anyway, I appreciate everyone listening. Be sure to join us at Ragin Cajun on Richmond next Thursday 8/30 if you can and then hang out to watch some college football with us.

Also be sure to email your NFL haikus to seanandjohn@1560thegame.com to get in on our NFL Gauntlet. Send as many as you want. Top 16 move onto the next round of the Gauntlet. First prize is a trip to Vegas sponsored by the Golden Nugget for the Super Bowl where we'll be broadcasting that week.

Looking forward to meeting all of you in person someday and to talking Rockets on clutchfans with all of you.

    Seannie,

Would you please tell your partner John that it's GULF, not GOLF, Coast Windows? Listen to the commercial next time. :)

Actually I think you would have been great paired with Granato, but I'm nobody so what do I know.

Is Yao the best center in the league? Your street cred rep depends on the correct answer. The clock is ticking.

Here is something I thought I'd never say: Granato seems OK so far. Haven't listened a whole lot but instead of being 100% goofball, he's mixed in a little more gravity and is listenable. He definitely needs a partner to help carry the show but if Lance joins him, I'm concerned Granato would revert to his prior complete goofball form. If he stayed more serious and added Lance, I would dump the AM610 morning show permanently. Lance will be a huge addition for you guys.

I hope that the signal thing is worked out soon. Also, I can't seem to listen online at work either. I can listen to 610, 790, 740, etc. all on their streams, but 1560 won't connect at all. It works at home, so I guess it has to do with our firewall.

Back in 1999 when there was the "Keep Rome on Live" email petition, someone sent you an email with a photo of a crusted foot attached.

    That was me.

Don't give up, you're not alone
Though you're weak and chilled to the bone
I will shore the pain that you're going through
If there's one set of footsteps I'll be carrying you

    If there's one
One set of footsteps in the sand
    One set of footsteps
    If there's one
One set of footsteps in the sand
    One set of footsteps

If you're losing faith, I'll understand
Don't be afraid I'm holding your hand
If you trust in me then I will be true
If there's one set of footsteps I'll be carrying you

    If there's one
One set of footsteps in the sand
    One set of footsteps
    If there's one
One set of footsteps in the sand
    One set of footsteps

Then I'm gonna walk on, walk on
I'm gonna walk on 'till the hurt is gone
    Walk on, walk on
I'm gonna keep going, gonna carry on
    Walk on, walk on
    I'm gonna walk on
    I'm gonna walk on

Don't give up, you're not alone
Gotta try to be strong, you've got to move on
Just hold on tight and you'll make it through
If there's one set of footsteps I'll be carrying you

    If there's one
One set of footsteps in the sand
    One set of footsteps
    If there's one
One set of footsteps in the sand
    One set of footsteps

    Walk on, walk on
    Walk on, walk on

I'm gonna walk on 'till it's gone
