    Good post.

I think the consensus is that Luis Scola has a good understanding of the game. And he certainly does. I think on this team, he'll learn to pick his spots and take whatever he can. Scrap for his points if need be.

Two things though. His athleticism doesn't blow me away. He looks a little like he's lumbering out there. It might be his huge shoulders and frame, but I suspect even Chuck Hayes is faster and more athletic than Scola.

Also, alot of his moves are fundamentally sound. He has VERY good footwork. Reminds me of a shorter and bulkier Tim Duncan actually. But there ARE going to be moments in the NBA where he turns his defender on his heels with his post moves, only to get rejected BIG TIME, especially against the long, lanky types. We'll definitely see guys like Garnett just swoop in and send that ball back at Scola the first few weeks, if not months of the season.

That said, I still think Scola will be a good fit for Adelman's offense. something like 10 and 6 is not too far an expectation for him his first year here.

I was impressed by his passing ability. He has pretty solid footwork and spacing.

But as for the offensive moves and finishes on the break.....it was merely execution against a smaller, weaker team.

I'd love to see a larger, more athletic player on him to see what he can do. I am fearful we are getting a bit too excited about this guy prematurely. I think he'll be decent his first year, but it will take him some time to effectively play the NBA game night in and night out.

I am glad we signed him. But I am trying to temper my expectations a bit.

Unlike everyone else, I think this guy is going to be great, he's so active, always moving, he's the perfect compliment to Yao. He reminds me of a Ginobli at the PF position, not the greatest athlete but uses the change of speeds and fakes to create shots.

However, I havn't seen too many games of his, so can't really make a good judgment until he plays the U.S....he looks like he got game.

I'm sick of Hayes/Howard/Swift type players at the PF, we need a legit PF...

Very excited to see the highlights. Thanks so much for the vid!!

Scola looks great: solid footwork, solid passes, great outside shot. The only thing I can see is he doesn't yet have any hook shot (straight or bank hook shots ala Duncan's). For his size and bulkiness, consistent hook shot will make him very hard to defend. Still can't believe we get this guy for almost nothing.

    Can't wait!!

This Prigioni-Scola combination looks like the Stocton-Malone duo. :D

Except he can hit a 15-18 foot jump shot, score easily from the paint, and create his shot out of the post. Nope nothing better than Chuck Hayes.

He has a hookshot. If you check out his normal YouTube highlights, he does have the hookshot in his arsenal.

Scola looks like a great player! Excellent footwork, good jump shot, good post moves, great passer. I was watching the game and I was very impressed. He is perfect for the style Rick Adelman likes.

    thank you buddy.

Scola was really smart in the 2nd & 3rd play in the video.

His low post movement may be inefficient against NBA bodies, but clever play prevails

I am not too sure about this... but I think some of his low post plays came against Batista of Uruguay. That guy is huge and could give big centers a run for their physicality.

I think the better point came in your answer... that clever plays will prevail. Scola will use his cleverness to pull off his low post moves when in the NBA.
