You know, the years he were here, I thought we had one of the best starting 5 in the game with Yao, EG, Posey, Cat, and SF3-Extremely versatile athletes who could all hit the three. I was as excited coming into that season as this one, and I'm sorry to see him go. I'm also sorry that he didn't tap into his potential before leaving. Rest in Peace.
wow, it happened so fast...i was so shocked to see the news..i thought it was just another problem against the law but oh man... that's 2 of our former players dead and 2 from the timberwolves... RIP Eddie Griffin (Can someone make a video tribute?)
Not sure if this is true, but if it is my prayers go out to his family. Eddie seemed to hold as much promise as any young player to enter the league when the Rockets drafted him. For him to be gone a short time later is truly tragic.
Damn shame. I remember for about one month during his rookie season he was arguably the best power forward in the league. He couldn't miss from 3 point land and he was a beast on the boards. Just couldn't get it together on the court or off it.
It's terrible when someone with such an obvious mental illness could not get the help they need and find the strength to win the battle.
unfortunately for eddie, his life was a train wreck from the moment he left seton hall. he loved college life and should have stayed. he may have matured into a better person even if he did lose out on some money. i guess its easy for me to say pass up the money when i wasnt in the financial straights he and his family was in.
Good thoughts, but I wouldn't bet he is in a better place. He completely wasted every opportunity he was given. Truly a shame is all you can say about his life.
**** you, the man just died. Show some decency. And who are you to judge whether Eddie is in a better place now?
