I gotta admit - I'm stoked about the guy. Can he survive a 100+ game season with major minutes tho?

he certainly has the potential. he definitely is not like lucas other than his size. i can't wait to see him go against guys like TJ Ford and Chris Paul.

I just hope AB gets as much playing time as Conley and Law so the best rookie PG is clear. Not likely though.

Don't forget that JL3 could "get his shot off" on anyody in the league too with that floater.

But the difference is AB actually looked like a point guard, albeit against summer league scrubs. Now he's got a chance to go against the cream of the crop in the league, it should do wonders for him.

Maybe not this coming season, but I do see him as the PG of the future in 2 years.

That's right about the time Francis turns into another Sura.

That's a reach. If he's brought along slowly, doesn't get major minutes early on and becomes a key member of the rotation later in the year, AB could play his best ball late in the season. (Remember Sam in 93/94). I still doubt that would make him better than both of our experienced players, SF & MJ. But if AB is good enough to force his way into our late season rotation, that would be great. As a rookie, he would be at a severe disadvantage in the playoffs but that doesn't mean he can't be effective.

If AB gets major minutes early in the year, he will hit the rookie wall and pay the price when the games start adding up. His body will feel the toll and defenses will adjust to whatever weakness he has in his game. My hope is SF & MJ both play like they are on a mission and it takes a while for AB to work his way in. The sessions in Las Vegas are great but will become a distant memory during 4 games in 5 days road trips in the last 1/3 of the season.

Lastly, AB has a LOT to learn about playing defense. His fundamentals in summer league were very poor. You may end up being right but I'm gonna stay on a more realistic keel for now. I want you to be correct.

Kobe probably told all of his PG teamates to do the same as well.

But that is the really nice thing about this team - it is shaping up to appear that no one really has to play major minutes for us to be successful. I know it is really far ahead but just envision in April that the team overall has energy to spare because the average minutes for the starters could possibly be around 30-32 instead of 35-40.
