Jennings starts since he last faced the Nationals
    5.0 IP; 7 ER
    6.0 IP; 3 ER
    0.2 IP; 11 ER
    6.1 IP; 5 ER
    5.1 IP; 4 ER
    5.2 IP; 4 ER
3.0 IP; 6 ER (so far)

His ERA has increased almost every game (except for the 6 IP, 3 ER outing) since early June. His HR rate is higher than it ever was in Colorado. The guy is actually getting worse and is making a bid for and ERA over 7.

Adam Eaton has the worst ERA in the NL among qualified pitchers with a 6.36. If Jennings qualified, he'd be second with a 6.08 (going into tonight). Absolutely ridiculous.

    After tonight it's 6.45, so he's No. 1.

But in order to qualify, you need to have 1 IP for every team game played. The Astros have played 125 games and Jennings has thrown 99 innings. Unfortunately, he has no shot a qualifying and taking sole possession of the title.

Redding has a 2.57 ERA this season... can anyone explain that?

Maybe... the experience has taught him how to pitch efficiently. He is a vet and is pitching in the NL.

A fluke due to a small sample size.

Someone explain to me why this bum is still in the rotation? I mean I saw him probably pitch his best game, I repeat his BEST game of the season?!? When he pitched the Dodger game and Biggio went yard large with the grand salami! The problem is if he isn't hitting his spots and his slider isn't breaking well the aforementioned tells the story. I believe it's time for Timmy P to do something accidental, admit a mistake put him in long relief at best if you think he is even remotely serviceable. Otherwise, send him to Round Rock! Despite our numerous screwups no one in this division is really taking charge if we could only get SOME consistent pitching, get Hunter back a little elf and magic with the moon in line with uranus and the pigs flying over the blue moon ... eh ... hey I can dream can I? God, what a waste of a season!

Didn't Redding spend most of his year in AAA though? IIRC Redding got a callup (due to an injury on the Nat's) early summer, after starting the year in AAA and having an average ERA.

After Sept 1, rosters will expand and Jennings can move quietly to the end of bullpen bench.

my friends and i had the same experience last night watching the football game, flipping over to see the stros down 6-0 then realizing who was pitching and was like "oh okay". the 7 era seems to be a possibility, I'm actually rooting for it, sorry. not just so I can rub it in on how bad this deal was, since the season's over might as well root for some comedy.

610 reported that Pence will be in the starting lineup tonight at CF. No word on who got removed. It's probably between Lane (who has options) and releasing Palmeiro. I'm good with either.

Lane was OUT of options earlier this year... but when he was placed on waivers (which is what you have to do when somebody is out of options), not one team picked him up... thus he was allowed to be sent to AAA.

Not sure how it works now... but I'd think with September callups not too far away, deciding who to send down isn't that big of a deal.
