I didnt see this posted. Is anyone going to this? http://houstontoyotacenter.com//events/event_567.php
my friend is involved with one facet of the production. he sometimes asks people close to him for some extra help and i usually say "naaaah." but for this i told him, "hey you need help with this one?!?!?" i'd probably embarrass him though when i get there and start acting like a total fanboy.
Eventhough the proceeds goes to charity, the ticket prices are too steep to welcome Steve back. Besides, I already told him welcome back at Tracy's charity softball tournament.
Steve Francis is welcome back to the Rockets- NOT for what he was, but for what we hope he has become!! The old Steve Francis [ a selfish tweener]is most unwelcome, but a newly dedicated and mature player not seeking invividual fame is the one we are hoping for.
I imagine the welcome back celebration and the deal a Belvedere on Sunday will be a bunch of hoochies and guys chasing after them paying for over-priced drinks posing for indamix.com cameras. Not really my scene, but hopefully it is successful for the cause.
nothing says "i'm a team player and a role player now" quite like a welcome back party in his own honor!
It's a freaking charity event... Besides, a lot of the city's fans are happy to see him back, and have a lot of good memories with him (being the first star to play his rookie year for the Rockets since '84). So it's something a lotta people probably would enjoy. There's at least one in every thread... People will find a way to troll anything and everything, no matter how innocent, and no matter what team they claim to root for...
With the amount of replies to this thread, it seems like the attendance is going to be pretty sparse. I might go check it out- does anyone have more info? The link has zero info aside from the price...which is also ambiguous. What does 20 get you? what does 40? I know it's a charity, but I've been to charity events, and if you give more, you usually get a better table, etc.
