The first game at Enron Field was vs the Yankees. I still have the little hat they gave out to us all.
the only one on the list that i went to was the first game at enron. biggio's 3000th hit game should be up there, certainly above the games that didn't even take place here. also i went to that one.
My dad actually picked me and a buddy of mine up early from school to go to the game. We went to the game the night before, and, when we didn't clinch the division, went straight to the ticket window and got tickets for the next day. I'm not sure what our plan was if either of our parents wouldn't have driven us to the day game since we were 15. I was also at the game where Nolan Ryan became the first pitcher ever to strike out 4,000 pitchers (it was Danny Heep). Somehow, that's not all that impressive 1,700 strikeouts later!
The biggest one my family was there for was the final game of the 2004 season. The Astros beat the Rockies to win the wild card. Best part was that 6 of us went and spent 14 bucks total for the 6 tix.
I was at game 4 of the Astros-Phillies 1980 National League Championship series. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1980_National_League_Championship_Series I was also at the last baseball game the Astros ever played in the Dome....the playoff loss in game 4 to the Braves in 1999.
i was there, too - i was 9. i still remember, after losing, the entire 45,000-whatever fans engaging in a racuous, unplanned "houston!" astros!" chant as we exited.
I saw the 3000th hit, 18 inning game, game 4 world series, last game of the astrodome and thats about all of the good games the astros have played
I had tickets but I had to give them away because my wife won a business trip to La Costa. I had tickets to Nolan Ryan's no-hitter, but it was the day of my brother-in-law's first wedding (he is currently on number 4). I had tickets to Ken Forsch's no-hitter, but that was only the third game of the season and I also had tickets to a more important Rockets' game that night. I was offered tickets to Dierker's no-hitter, but we decided to go cruising for girls instead (we would have had more success at the game).
Games I did attend: 1 of the Yankee games in 1965 - not the first. The 24 inning game (stayed for 22). The 1981 "playoff" games against the Dodgers. The 1986 Mets playoff series. The Dickie Thon "beaning" game. A few games at Colt stadium. Some game they lost 7-1.
I was there too. I think we stayed to the 13th before my dad said it was time to go. I remember thinking, "it will be over by the time we get to the car." then, "it will be over by the time we get home." then, "it will be over before i go to sleep." i was wrong every time.
I went to the game after DK died a few years ago. It was against the Mariners, and both Biggio and Bagwell didn't start. The game went into extras, and Baggy eventually came up to the dish with a chance to win the game for us. He delivered with an RBI single, and his teammates surrounded him while he was spent emotionally. great game, sad day.
I was a Game 3 WS, game 5 NLCS (the Pujlos shot), Nolan Ryan's first major leage home run, the first game at Enron, the last game at the Dome, the clincher vs. the Cubs, the NLCS game where we blew a chance to win with bases loaded w/ no outs vs. the Braves when Rocker shut us down, the Big Units first playoff game in H-town, and many others that had no significance, but those are most of the meaningful games (even though more were heartbreakers than good memories).
I know this will sound unbelievable, but I've been to the three no-hitters that were mentioned. Mike Scott's was the best of the three, with Nolan's close behind and DK's a distant 3rd. I've give all of that up to be at the clinching game of the World Series.
