He's already our best big game player and he hasn't even suited up for the Rockets yet. The guy has done nothing but win every where he has gone. I hope he's not afraid to be vocal and provide some much needed energy and leadership to this team. Scola, Francis, and James have to be the spark plugs and leaders if the Rockets are going to win a championship. Yao and Mac are the most talented players but they are not leaders on this team.
Funny...I was just wondering how you could debate this. 50% shooting is extreamly efficient....how is this even debatable. And to answer your questions about fouls, you did not watch the game so you do not know how the officials called the game. Also the man grabbed 12 rebounds...not soft. 50% shooting, efficient...not debatable.
If you want to download this video click here:http://rapidshare.com/files/48414655/scola.wmv I made this video THE SHOTCHART HERE:
Boxcore shows Scola got 15 Pts 5 Rbs 6/12 FG against Canada (Today) http://www.fiba.com/pages/esp/fe/07...nglc/es/roundid/5744/fe_scheStat_boxScor.html Im surprised Nash is not playing for Canada.
Canada does not need Steve Nash in this game, as they won 84 vs 78. Luis Scola scored 15 points (6/12 FG% 3/7 FT%), 5 rebounds, 1 assist, 1 steal and 1 turnover.
really? i would prefer the latter.. it implies they are attacking the basket and the opposing teams could only foul in order to stop the player hence alot of points with no recorded shot attempts. But thats just me... And ppl taking 22 shots in the nba are averaging 30+ so...this is basically what im comparing to..not a fan of international game..
30-40+ ..i know im comparing him to superstars..thats cuz superstars take that many shots in a game..look i know he made half his shots ..but im just saying he took a lot of shots..thats all im saying
According to the reports there were some pushes and insults between Scola and Samuel Dalembert at the end of the game. There were also many technical fouls in this game... and it was a friendly match... It will be interesting to see what happens in Las Vegas between these teams.
His (very good) point is that efficiency in terms of basketballs is scoring per possession. To be efficient, you waste as few possessions as possible, which means to score often. Shotting 50% is all well and good, but there are players out there who hit 50% and also average more than 22 points in 23 shots (or whatever it was). There are probably players who shoot less than 50% yet average more points/shot than Scola did. After all, who cares what % you shoot if you turn the ball over, are bad on defense, etc etc. In Scola's case, it appears that he did not make it to the foul line often enough, but this may be a residue of the style of play.
Did anyone else notice that Scola rolls off of picks way early? Like the guard will just be getting around him and he's already calling for the ball on the roll? (Sorry to post so many times...)
I am not sure why the pictures did not post correctly...if someone could fix it and tell me what I did wrong I would appreciate it! Thanks jsm
