I think that the 1998 Bulls still had one or two more championships in the tank had they not broken up. Although on the downside of his career, Jordan was still the man who could single-handedly beat a team in the clutch. Pippen was still in his prime...despite of what happend in Houston in 99' and their role players were all very effective (remember what Steve Kerr did for SA and Ron Harper did for L.A. and Toni Kokuc, etc., all key contributors to championship or playoffs teams after that).

Yuh. I LOVE the Rox, but I think if they ran into the Bulls in the Finals we'd have some problems. MJ woulda had a field day but Mr. Olajuwon would have as well.

As far as the Spurs vs. Bulls go, I'm gonna go ahead and say that MJ wasn't gonna let the Spurs win. The NBA Finals are where legends are made...and MJ's legend speaks for itself.

The Bulls always had trouble with great centers. A team with two would have eaten their lunch.

Also, no team has been able to win four straight in like thirty or forty years. It's extremely unlikely that the Bulls would have been able to, even if the team stayed together.

It depends what year they ran into each other.

1991, 1992 the Bulls probably had the better team and would have taken it.

1993-95, Hakeem was just a god, and he finally had a decent supporting cast. Even if Jordan plays, the Rockets have an excellent shot at beating them.

1996, yeah that 72-10 Bulls team probably would have trounced our beloved defending champs. It's probably for the best that Seattle swept them that year or else there really would be asterisks next to the 94 and 95 campaigns.

1997, I really think the Rockets would have been able to beat them. The Bulls had superior backcourt talent, but their front line would have been murdered by Olajuwon, Barkley, and Willis.

1998, the Rockets had completely fallen apart from injuries. Had they somehow miraculously made the finals they probably wouldn't have had enough gas in the tank to last more than five games.

Bulls in 5. Jordan would not let the Bulls lose a Finals series. Rember 97' and 98'? He willed them to those 2 finals. I hope nobody has forgotten him averaging over 30 ppg and more apg than Magic Johnson in the 1991 finals or his dominate performances against the Blazers...one game he could have scored 65 if he wanted to but he didn't try because he already turned it into a blowout. 93' was when he averaged a record 41 ppg in the finals. You can't beat Jordan in the finals! Magic, Drexler, Barkley, Payton, Malone and Stockton have tried and failed.

While this is true people must remember that D-rob was past his prime in '99 and Duncan hadn't reached his full potential yet......the east was a joke that year.....I'll take the bulls in 6.....

Duncan put up 23 and 12 that postseason. He was the closer for the team as well, and spanked Karla Malone that postseason. Robinson put up 16 and 10 and was still a shut down defender.

Oh wow. The Bulls were able to defeat a deflated and injury-plagued Rockets squad that went 41-41. That's really impressive...

Nobody is saying that squad would have defeated them. To equate the 1998 Rockets with any previous incarnation is a flat out misrepresentation.
