right???!!! seriously...did he just "miss" it? maybe change his mind about where he was going with it as he made contact?
Keepers are allowed to move along the line before the shot. Besides, very few refs, especially professionally, will ever call back a pk for the keeper moving up.
I don't know this for sure, but I think he hit it pretty much just like he intended to. I think he figured his brilliant fake would send Calero diving out to the corner flag, and it would be ooh- and ahh-worthy when he just plunked it softly down the middle. Almost worked. Didn't work. Ching did that same stutter-step in the shooutout against New England. I'm not sure how I feel about it.
I can tell you how I felt about it this morning when I fast-forwarded to the end of the game on my DVR and watched it.
I'm not crazy about doing that. Every trainer I've played for has said "Pick your spot and hit the ball."
That was a crazy roller coaster of a game. It sucked losing on penalties, yeah I just called them penalties, but our guys showed a lot of heart to even make it there. We were a man down for over 90 minutes against one of the best teams in the Americas and we never gave up. A lot of people want to blame Ngwenya for the loss but that's just the easy way out. Ianni's red card hurt us a lot more.
You should make it out there next time to see for yourself, but the Dynamo faithful are just that - faithful. At no home match at Robertson, including when America came a few weeks ago and last night, has the majority of the crowd been for the away team. Last night the crowd was easily 2:1 for the Dynamo and it was packed with 21,000+. Fantastic atmosphere, unfortunate result. As for the game itself, Ashe and Ianni both made dumb mistakes that cost the team dearly and both red cards were justified, IMO. I was very surprised to see both Holden and Clark out of the lineup and didn't think our three-man front worked all that effectively. I though that Clark was banged up a bit but haven't heard anything on Holden. Was either available last night?
I think Clark may have dressed for the game but his ankle is still bothering him from the all star game (I really wish no Houston players would play in that). Stuie wasn't available, during the second half he walked in front of our section in street clothes. We were kind of hoping he was heading to the locker room to change but unfortunately he wasn't.
lol, I never thought I would see a Dynamo game thread that's longer than an Astros series thread that is in it's third day. I'm glad there is passion for the Dynamo, lets hope they can turn it around in MLS play and get back to that top spot
