    Why do we spend all this money on the "War on Terror" ? It appears Americans do a lot better job of it.

    I agree. I had a thread entitled "Putting things in Perspective" a week or two ago, which showed how many people have died since 9/11 from preventable causes like crime, health and accidents.

    Politicians that campaign based on fear.

    Why do we spend all this money?

    The defense industry has "links" to said politicians.
