What if Boston can't win games? It doesn't matter how many all stars you get, you can have a team filled with big names and still lose like crazy. you know which team I'm talking about..Larry Brown, Marbury, SF3,Clawford, and a bunch others...did their GM win "worst GM of the year"? I think he did. Not saying Garnet would suck too, but the Boston team has a lot to worry about.

and what if Garnet opt out after 1 year and join Rockets for minimun? oops, that the next off season... ;) :D

I thought Rafer already got an MIP last week. Oh never mind that was a PI and he's not a minor. :)

I voted for Morey, and I dont think Scola is going to get the rookie award, he is a great plyer, but the media would vote for Durant or Oden I think.

both of those players had relatively respectable careers prior to last season. the only player i can think of having a break-out season would be Kirk Snyder if he gets meaningful minutes this season.

No way Francis makes the allstar team. Mcgrady, doesn't even have a clear chance of making it with iverson in the west now.

Tracy made it last year even with AI in the west. TMac could also qualify as a SF and get in.

The only one I thought had a 100% chance of not happening was Battier being DPOY: He doesn't seem to have the kind of reputation as a defensive stopper as we put on him as Rockets fans.

I remember there is another award called "come back player of the year"? IMO Steve may have a good chance of landing that one.

All of the rewards, and winning, are based on good chemistry, IMO.

-Yao I can see getting consideration for MVP as long as he is at 100%. The only thing I see hurting that is our scorers, MJ, Francis, Scola, and maybe Bonzi. TMac, IMO, is on the downside of his career. The added scorers will actually help take the load off him.

-I could see Rick getting CotY, if we move to the next level.

-Morey is almost a lock if we do better than last year.

-If francis comes back and plays strong, he could possibly get the votes needed to be an all-star. I doubt he make it if he isn't voted in, but China had a big part in him starting before, why not again?

-Scola has an outside shot at RotY. I can see the voters being biased against him, since he's played pro basketball in Europe for a while.

Not sure if it's been mentioned, but what about Stevie for Comeback Player of the Year. Hell, do they even have that in the NBA?

i voted for morey since, like you said, it appears to be a 2-man race.

i think yao getting mvp is the second most likely though. yao's scoring depends on how efficiently some of our new acquisitions score, so yes it could go down. i think he'll be more involved as a passer to initiate easier offense for guys like steve, tracy, etc. but at the same time, the threat of other scorers should make things much easier on him. yao ming in the low post will always be the #1 best option on this team. i don't see any reason why adelman would stray to far from that. yao, if he's healthy is just too good to take the ball out of his hands for too long.

GM Morey, Rookie for Scola, and 6th man to James or Bonzi all look like possibilities. We're not bad enough to get a Coach or most improved. Unless Yao or Tracy gets injured for a significant amount of time like last year, it'd be hard for either to get mvp.

morey has a shot, but if the C's make the playoffs ainge has it in the bag.

yao for MVP is a solid bet, as is adelman for COY.

i see a lot of ppl here think tracy is on the "downside" of his career. hopefully tracy will step up to dispute these notions.
