Could the starting 5 - Greatest of All Time Rox beat the G-O-A-T from other teams? Here's my picks... Who'd I leave out or misplace? I'd take our 5 vs. any of them. How 'bout you?

    1) Calvin (PG)
    2) Clyde (SG)
    3) T-Mac (SF)
    4) Dream (PF)
    5) Moses (C)

    Are they better than...

    Celts
    1) Cousey or Archibald (PG)
    2) Havlicek (SG)
    3) Bird (SF)
    4) McHale (PF)
    5) Russell (C)

    Lakers
    1) Magic (PG)
    2) Kobe (SG)
    3) Worthy or Baylor (SF)
    4) McAdoo or the Mail lady (PF)
    5) Kareem, Shaq or Chamberlain (C)

    Bulls -
    1) Sloan (PG)
    2) MJ (SG)
    3) Pippen (SF)
    4) Rodman (PF)
    5) Artis Gilmore (C)

    76ers-
    1) Iverson (PG)
    2) Greer (SG)
    3) the Doctor (SF)
    4) Barkely (PF)
    5) Moses (C)

    SA -
    1) Alvin Robertson or Parker (PG)
    2) Iceman (SG)
    3) Elliot (SF)
    4) Duncan (PF)
    5) Robinson (C)

As few Championships as we have, I still feel that we've had more than our fair share of best players to ever play the game of basketball in H-town. The Rox list doesn't even include Ralph, Pippen (yes, I know he was never a Rocket, but he did wear the pajama uni's one season), Barkley, etc. Maybe I missed a few, if so who? (on all teams)

Lat time I checked -Moses, Dream, Clyde and Calvin were all on that list as well. Hopefully, just a matter of time before T-Mac makes it as well.

a couple of those guys played for a couple different teams. For exampler, wilt was with the sixers for a while too.

The sixers team would be sick with AI, doctor j, charles barkley and wilt

Well, while we're dreaming, put Dream at C, move Moses to the 2nd team so he can wreak havoc or at least cancel out the Lakers 2nd team center. Put Elvin Hayes at PF. Oh, and probably Lucas would be the best pure PG we've had.

So, to me, this would be a great Rockets 2nd team...

    Moses
    OT
    Rick Barry or Ralph
    LL
Calvin or Sam or, if you wanted to go big against Magic, Robert Reid.

Sorry, I didn't really understand what the poll was asking. I thought it asked which of the following teams are beatable by the Rockets GOAT. So, I voted for San Antonio accidentally. But my real vote goes for Lakers. Please next time make the poll more clear.

The Rockets GOAT team is actually surprisingly good, consider the fact that our history has been heavy on bigman and light on great guards.

But you have to think that the Celtics and the Lakers are a notch above everyone else. And the Lakers above Celtics just a bit. After all, they have at least two generations of championship talent to work with. I'm not sure how the Bulls ended up "beating" the Celtics in that espn poll. Must be the MJ factor or something.

If you're going to play Dream at PF, you'd have to play Lakers centers at other positions too.

Nobody would beat the team of

    Wilt
    Shaq
    Kareem
    Kobe
    Magic

and with Jerry West, Karl Malone, Gary Payton, Elgin Baylor, James Worthy off the bench.

The Rockets GOAT wouldn't beat Boston's team of

    Larry Bird
    Bill Russell
    Bill Walton
    John Havlicek
    Bob Cousy

with Parish, Heinsohn, Cowens, McHale, Bill Sharmon off the bench.

    or the Milwaukee team of:

    Oscar Robertson
    Kareem
    Bob Pettit
    Alex English
    Bob Lanier

    or the PHI team of

    Wilt
    Malone
    Barkley
    Erving
    Iverson

But, the HOU team I'd put on the floor would be

    Moses
    Dream
    Hayes
    Glyde
    TMac

with Ralph Sampson, John Lucas, Elvin Hayes, Rick Berry, Charles Barkley, Dikembe and Yao coming off the bench.

What about greatest players based on their careers rather than their Rockets stint. If that were the rules the Rockets would have a real chance.
    Malone, Mutombo
    Olajuwon, Barkley
    Pippen, McGrady, Rice
    Drexler, Barry
    M. Jackson, Murphy

    So on and so forth...
