I need a 19" or larger monitor for my new PC. I want one with built-in speakers and I prefer widescreen. I could care less about the brand, I am looking for the cheapest/best deal I can get; I am open to refurbished as well. I looked around a little bit, and came across a refurbished Acer AL1917WAb 19-inch LCD Multimedia Monitor: http://www.compusa.com/products/product_info.asp?&ref=cj&pfp=cj&product_code=347288#ts After rebates, it comes out to $120 and I get a free Canon printer after MIR. Anyone have an experience with this specific monitor? I can't tell if it has built-in speakers or not from COMPUSA's website.

I wouldn't get a monitor with speakers. The sound quality is horrible. You mentioned that you want the cheapest one available, so the quality will be even worse.
It's fine with me, I will hook it up to a decent speaker system but meanwhile I just need it to come with basic speakers for work-related applications; so no fancy speakers needed for now. I am only planning to use it for work. So quality/display and durability is of more interest to me. I have fancy laptops for the other stuff Anyways, I just came back from COMPUSA, and man let me tell you: there's NOTHING even close to the Viewsonic brand monitors. One of them was right next to the Acer monitor, with the exact same display quality/resolution ratings, yet looked far superior to the Acer's. Samsung wasn't bad either, but they were significantly more expensive. I just need something sturdy that will last, I am transitioning into doing a lot more work from home. Appreciate all the feedback, guys...
Based on what I've read, the Acer has overall positive reviews, the Envision has a poor rating. The Acer is recommended by over 70% of its buyers, with ratings of "superior" on some review sites. Still, if I can find a good deal on a ViewSonic even if it's for slightly more I will go ahead and do it. But I don't want to lose out on that free printer from COMPUSA. So may be I can find a good one on sale somewhere else and price match?
