Just got back from a special screening of SuperBad over at the Mann Chinese 6 in Hollywood and thought I would share my review of the movie with you guys:

First off, I'm a huge fan of the guy that writes this movies (sorry forgot his name). I loved the 40 Year Old Virgin, Talladega Nights, and Knocked Up, although I thought the last one was a little too chick-flicky. But from the hype SuperBad was getting, I was pretty excited to see it.

The movie was just downright hilarious and you won't go a minute without laughing. The best comparison I can make is think of the original American Pie minus all the nudity, but with a few more funny lines. I would probably rank this movie below 40 Year Old Virgin and depending on how much you liked Talladega Nights, a little below that. I would highly recommend watching this movie, however, PARENTS BE AWARE! Lot's of cursing and highly sexual language in the movie. I would not probably tell my parents not to let my two younger sisters watch this movie. However, I think it would be a great movie to catch with the wife or girlfriend. And the McLovin character is just pure genius!

Overall: 4.5/5 = MUST SEE MOVIE!

Only problem I had with the screening was that Jimmy Kimmel tapes his show across the street from the theater and he had one of the actors from the movie (the big dude with curly hair) on his show that night and he had his cameramen inside the theaters. And every like 20 minutes, he big head would appear on the screen and he would just interrupt the movie. Cool thing was that my parents said they saw me on his show when he ran a clip of the screening.

Cool. I'm not good with remembering or knowing background stuff like that. My friends at the UCLA film school are the ones that know all that.

Didn't like Superbad. Had real high hopes for it, but the best parts of the movie were with Seth Rogen, the other cop, and McLovin.

Everything else fell pretty flat, I think. Maybe if I watched it again, I'd like it more, but probably not.

Couple of lines I did like:

"The thing about my back is it's located on my c*ck."

    "Oh no, it's the cops!"

    "Dude, you just c*ckblocked Mclovin!"

    "I have a boner."

I used American Pie b/c it is a similar type comedy in the sense of High School scenario before graduation. And American Pie is a funny movie. Not funnier than Superbad or 40YOV, but still funny.

American Pie is one of the worst movies I have ever seen. I could only watch 15 minutes of it before I had to turn it off.

Road Trip comparison is ok. Road Trip was extremely underated IMO.
