In All Pro Football 2K8, OJ Simpson is the star of a team called, wait for it... ...The Assassins. Not only that, but the team's mascot is a giant mechanical... OK, I'm not going to tell you. Watch the video. <object width="425" height="350"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/cMXgmMaEaHA"></param><param name="wmode" value="transparent"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/cMXgmMaEaHA" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" wmode="transparent" width="425" height="350"></embed></object>
Wow, that's just... I don't know what to say. LOL, I'm speechless! I wonder if they did that on purpose. That couldn't have been a coincidence... Game looks bad ass though...
How did they get all these legends in the same video game? Did they have have to get permission from each person individually, or does the NFL still own the rights to their names and likenesses and just allow 2K to put them on fictional teams?
They get the rights to each player individually. This is why they include scrubs like Neil O'Donnell and Andre Ware to fill out the rosters.
the game lists the legends as gold silver and bronze depending how good they were...i think andre ware was rated bronze. Needless to say from gold to bronze its a steep fall. Earl campbell is awesome on that game
That is not how the game starts out. The Assasins are a team in the game and whoever made the video traded him on to the team to make the video. It's still pretty funny though.
Actually he is not on the Assassins. He can be put on any team in the game just like any of the players. The developers of the game did this and I am sure they did it to get more press.
yeah. players arent assigned to any teams. you freely pick them. oh well, its not like research would be done when you have such a catchy headline "OJ plays for the Assassins on video game"
IMO, it is better than Madden if you prefer actual football over everything else. The gameplay is just amazing. The only thing that this game is lacking is the NFL license. If you can deal with that, this game is a must have. The animations and presentation blow Madden out of the water. Graphics could be better but with its solid gameplay, its a minor gripe.
some is some quirkyness too it. qb movement in the pocket...and there seems to be a general lag when doing moves (especially on the D-line. i only played it a few times but it does have something there that it can build on.
1) Where is Fred Goldman? 2) IIRC the NFL couldn't own the rights to former players because it is because Madden and the NFL signed an exclusivity agreement that 2k Sports football went out of production.
